Garcia went 1-for-5 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers.

Garcia put the Nationals ahead early, launching a two-out homer off Roki Sasaki in the third inning, giving Washington a 2-1 lead. The home run was Garcia's first of the season, though he's been swinging the bat well, going 11-for-34 with five extra-base hits and six RBI in his first nine games this season.

Sugano (1-0) earned the win Sunday against the Phillies, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with five strikeouts across six innings.

Making his first start at hitter-friendly Coors Field, Sugano couldn't have asked for better results against Philly's talent-laden offense. After a 2025 season in which he allowed an MLB-high 33 home runs with the Orioles, Sugano had few suitors in free agency and inked a one-year, $5.1 million deal with Colorado. Through two starts with his new club, Sugano owns a 1.69 ERA and 9:3 K:BB across 10.2 innings. He's slated to take the mound again Friday in San Diego.

Santana (groin) will remain in Arizona and undergo an MRI on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Santana was forced to leave Sunday's extra-inning win over Atlanta in the bottom of second inning after pulling up lame with a right groin injury while legging out a single. The first baseman will now stick around Arizona for an extra day to undergo additional imaging while the rest of the squad travels to New York ahead of the team's three-game set against the Mets beginning Tuesday. Ildemaro Vargas replaced Santana at first base Sunday, and he could be the next man up if Santana is forced to miss any action moving forward.

Rushing went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Nationals.

Rushing got the Dodgers' comeback started in the sixth inning with a two-out, two-strike homer off lefty PJ Poulin, cutting the deficit to 6-3. The 25-year-old catcher hasn't seen a lot of playing time behind Will Smith early this year (Sunday's start was just his second of the season). Rushing has gone 2-for-5 to open the campaign after slashing .204/.258/.324 with four homers across 155 plate appearances as a rookie in the 2025 regular season.

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Nationals.

Ohtani opened the scoring in the third inning with a 438-foot blast off Foster Griffin, his second homer of the season. He'd later put the Dodgers ahead 7-6 with a sacrifice fly in the eighth. After starting the year 3-for-18, Ohtani has logged three consecutive multi-hit games, going 6-for-15 with a pair of homers and six RBI in that span.

Suzuki (knee) is expected to rejoin the major-league roster Friday in Chicago, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Suzuki will remain with Double-A Knoxville and play Tuesday and Wednesday before concluding his minor-league rehab assignment. The Cubs will return to Wrigley Field on Friday after a six-game road trip, and Suzuki appears to be on track to make his 2026 regular-season debut against the Pirates. The outfielder has gone 3-for-8 with an RBI, two runs scored, a walk and two strikeouts over three contests so far with Knoxville.

O'Hearn went 2-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run and four RBI in Sunday's game against the Orioles.

O'Hearn kicked off the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning, his third long ball of the season. He added a two-RBI double one frame later, his third multi-RBI effort of the campaign. O'Hearn has had a strong start to the season by collecting at least one hit in seven of eight games, and he's even started two of three contests against lefties.

Griffin (1-0) did not factor into the decision Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing a run on five hits and three walks across five innings. He struck out six.

Griffin was sharp Sunday, with the only damage against him coming on a Shohei Ohtani solo homer in the third inning. While the Nats' bullpen failed to hang on to a 6-1 lead, Washington has to be encouraged by Griffin's performance early in the season. Through two starts against two strong offenses (the Dodgers and Phillies), the 30-year-old southpaw has allowed just three runs on 10 hits while striking out 11 in 10 innings. Griffin is tentatively scheduled for a road matchup with the Brewers in his next outing.

Happ went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two total RBI in a 6-5 loss to the Guardians in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

Happ has been in a nice groove to begin the season as he now has an .809 OPS and four home runs through eight games, with the long-ball total good for the team lead. The veteran outfielder is batting only .189, so it's been a little feast or famine so far, but the average should start to climb. Happ is locked into a spot near the top of Chicago's batting order, and he's producing enough power to remain a staple in fantasy lineups as well.

Burke struck out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning to pick up the save in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.

With three key members of the bullpen unavailable having pitched the previous two games, including closer Emilio Pagan, manager Terry Francona had to rely on middle relievers. Pierce Johnson, Sam Moll and Connor Phillips got the game into the ninth inning. Burke finished it off from there with a 1-2-3 ninth for his first save of the season and of his career.
