  • Jose Miranda 3B | MIN

    Jose Miranda: Enters free agency

Miranda cleared waivers Thursday and elected free agency, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

After posting a .763 OPS in the big leagues in 2024, Miranda's performance declined considerably in 2025, as he slashed just .195/.272/.296 across 371 plate appearances at Triple-A St. Paul. His previous success could net him a fair amount of attention in free agency, though his options will likely be limited to minor-league contracts.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

    Edwin Diaz: Given qualifying offer

The Mets extended a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer to Diaz on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Diaz is expected to decline the offer after opting out of his contract with the Mets earlier this offseason. Thursday's move will ensure the Mets receive draft compensation if Diaz goes elsewhere. The right-hander totaled 28 saves in 2025 while tallying a 1.63 ERA across 66.1 innings.

  • Ranger Suarez SP | PHI

    Ranger Suarez: Receives qualifying offer

The Phillies extended a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer to Suarez on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Suarez is coming off an excellent 2025 season in which he posted a 3.20 ERA and a 151:38 K:BB over 157.1 regular-season innings, which he capped off with just one run allowed in five postseason frames. Suarez will turn 30 next August, and he'll likely decline the qualifying offer in pursuit of a multi-year deal. If he leaves Philadelphia, the Phillies will receive draft compensation.

  • Dylan Cease SP | TOR

    Dylan Cease: Extended qualifying offer

The Padres extended Cease a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

If Cease signs elsewhere in free agency, the Padres will receive a bonus draft pick as compensation. The 29-year-old has been extremely reliable from a health standpoint, making at least 32 starts in each of the last five seasons. His performance, on the other hand, has been more inconsistent, as he's looked like a top-end starter at times but finished the 2025 regular season with a 4.55 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 168 innings.

  • Framber Valdez SP | HOU

    Framber Valdez: Handed qualifying offer

The Astros extended a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer to Valdez on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Valdez is expected to decline the offer and pursue a significantly larger deal as a free agent this offseason. Thursday's move ensures the Astros will receive a compensatory draft pick if Valdez does not return to Houston. He logged a 3.66 ERA and a 187:68 K:BB across 192 innings in 2025, and the soon-to-be 32-year-old has now thrown at least 175 innings in four consecutive campaigns.

  • Kyle Schwarber LF | PHI

    Kyle Schwarber: Receives qualifying offer

The Phillies extended Schwarber a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Schwarber will most likely decline the qualifying offer and look for a multi-year deal in free agency, but by extending the offer to the 32-year-old slugger, Philadelphia ensures it will at least receive draft compensation if Schwarber signs elsewhere. Schwarber was one of the Phillies' most dynamic hitters in 2025 with a .240/.365/.563 slash line and set career highs with 56 home runs, 132 RBI and 111 runs scored over 724 plate appearances.

  • Kyle Tucker RF | CHC

    Kyle Tucker: Given qualifying offer

The Cubs extended Tucker a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

As the marquee free agent this offseason, Tucker will decline the offer. If he leaves the Cubs -- which is expected -- Chicago will receive a draft pick as compensation. Tucker played through a hairline fracture in his hand and also missed time with a calf injury in 2025, but he still slashed .266/.377/.464 with 22 home runs, 25 stolen bases and an 87:88 BB:K over 136 regular-season contests.

  • Gleyber Torres 2B | DET

Gleyber Torres: Tigers extend qualifying offer

The Tigers tendered a one-year, $22.05 million qualifying offer to Torres (groin) on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Torres underwent surgery in late October to repair a sports hernia on his left side, but he should be fully healthy well before spring training. The infielder turns 29 in December, and he could decline the qualifying offer in search of a multi-year deal. Torres slashed .256/.358/.387 with 16 home runs, 79 runs and 74 RBI during the 2025 regular season.

  • Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA

    Pete Fairbanks: Club option declined

The Rays declined Fairbanks' $11 million club option for 2026 on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Fairbanks will instead receive a $1 million buyout from the Rays and look to the free-agent market for his next opportunity. The 31-year-old right-hander delivered one of the best seasons of his career in 2025, finishing the regular season with a 2.83 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through 60.1 innings while collecting a career-high 27 saves. His reliability in high-leverage situations should attract plenty of interest in free agency.

  • Justin Topa RP | MIN

Twins' Justin Topa: Option declined, but arb eligible

The Twins declined Topa's $2 million option for 2026 on Thursday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Topa remains in the organization, as he has another year of team control via arbitration eligibility. The righty reliever collected a 3.90 ERA and 49:18 K:BB over 60 innings out of the Twins' bullpen in 2025, notching four saves along the way. Topa could see high-leverage innings again in 2026 as part of an unsettled Minnesota relief corps.
