  • Braves' Jurickson Profar: Receives 162-game ban for PEDs

Profar will be suspended 162 games by Major League Baseball after testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug for the second time in the last year, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

It was announced March 31 of last year that Profar was suspended 80 games for a positive PED test, and now he is set to miss an entire season for a second failed test. Per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the MLBPA plans to challenge the suspension by filing a grievance, though it's highly unlikely it would be overturned. Profar -- who is in the second year of a three-year, $42 million contract -- had been set to serve as Atlanta's primary designated hitter this season. The club could mix and match in that slot now, at least until Sean Murphy (hip) returns, or it could seek help from outside the organization.

  • Wander Suero RP | ATH

Athletics' Wander Suero: Delivers two scoreless frames

Suero allowed a hit and no walks across two scoreless innings in Monday's Cactus League win over the Padres. He struck out one.

Suero entered in the sixth inning and tossed two scoreless frames, with a two-out Clay Dungan single in the seventh inning representing the lone baserunner against him. The veteran right-hander, who relies primarily on a cutter, signed a minor-league deal with the Athletics in November after seeing limited MLB action in recent years, with his last extended stint coming in 2021 with the Nationals. Suero is competing for a spot in the big-league bullpen and has allowed a run on three hits with three strikeouts across four innings in Cactus League play, though he's more likely to open the 2026 season at Triple-A Las Vegas.

  • Luis Medina SP | ATH

Athletics' Luis Medina: Being considered for relief role

The Athletics are evaluating Medina for a potential Opening Day bullpen role, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

After missing the second half of 2024 and all of 2025 following Tommy John surgery, Medina made his Cactus League debut Tuesday versus the Padres. He gave up one run on two hits and a walk in one inning, but Medina showed he still has a big fastball, topping out at 98.9 mph on the pitch. Medina is out of minor-league options and will have workload restrictions in 2026, which prompted his shift to relief this spring. The 26-year-old could eventually return to a starter role.

  • Sal Stewart 1B | CIN

Reds' Sal Stewart: Hits mammoth homer, plates four

Stewart clubbed a three-run home run and added an RBI double in Monday's Cactus League game versus the Cubs.

Stewart's long ball off of Collin Snider in the fifth inning went over the batter's eye in center field and was measured at 410 feet and 107.2 mph off the bat. It was the 22-year-old's second home run this spring, and he also added his second stolen base. Stewart cranked five home runs in 18 regular-season games down the stretch for the Reds last season and has breakout potential in his first full big-league season in 2026.

  • Brewers' Brandon Lockridge: Nursing rotator cuff contusion

Lockridge has been held out of Cactus League action since suffering a rotator cuff contusion Thursday when he dove back into the bag, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The good news is Lockridge avoided structural damage in the shoulder and he is expected to return to games in 3-5 days. Lockridge is off to a fantastic start this spring, going 6-for-11 with two home runs, one stolen base an a 2:1 BB:K. He's expected to open the season as a reserve outfielder for the Brewers.

  • Brandon Marsh LF | PHI

Phillies' Brandon Marsh: Returns to lineup Tuesday

Marsh (hand) will start in right field and bat third in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game versus the Rays.

Marsh jammed his hand into the ground during sliding practice last week, forcing him to miss a few contests. He's ready to go now, though, and has ample time to get ramped up for Opening Day later this month.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Back in action Tuesday

Lewis (side) is starting at third base and batting leadoff in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Rays.

The third baseman has been sidelined the past few days after some side tightness cropped up last week, but he's ready to rejoin the lineup after having an MRI come back clean and going through live batting practice Sunday. Given Lewis' extensive injury history, fantasy managers should still keep on eye on his health status throughout spring training.

  • Max Scherzer SP | TOR

Blue Jays' Max Scherzer: Will be ready for start of season

Scherzer said Tuesday that he is completely over last year's nagging thumb issues and will be ready to go at the start of the season, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Scherzer also confirmed that he will make his Grapefruit League debut Saturday against the Phillies and hopes to throw multiple innings. The 41-year-old agreed to terms with the Blue Jays just last week, but he's been throwing on his own and appears to be built up stamina-wise where he would normally be at this stage of spring training. Scherzer isn't guaranteed a spot in the Toronto rotation when the regular season begins, however, as Jose Berrios also appears to be over his 2025 injury issues.

  • Thomas White SP | MIA

Marlins' Thomas White: Cut from big-league camp

The Marlins reassigned White (oblique) to minor-league camp Tuesday.

White was a long shot to make the Opening Day roster, anyway, but a recent oblique strain sealed his fate. He is not expected to be game-ready until late March, so White could get a late start to the minor-league season. The top prospect collected a 2.31 ERA and 145:51 K:BB over 89.2 innings across three minor-league stops in 2025.

  • Orioles' Chayce McDermott: Optioned to Triple-A

The Orioles optioned McDermott to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

McDermott has impressed the Orioles this spring as he makes a full-time move to the bullpen, but he will continue working on things at Norfolk at the beginning of the season. The 27-year-old has a 6:1 K:BB in three innings during Grapefruit League play but has also served up three solo home runs.
