Sandoval (biceps) is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the White Sox in Chicago, Sean McAdam of MassLive.com reports.

The Red Sox brought Sandoval back from the 60-day injured list Monday, but he'll end up waiting for a few days before making his first big-league appearance since June 21, 2024, after enduring a lengthy recovery from internal brace surgery and multiple arm-related setbacks. Sandoval was sharp over the course of his six-start minor-league rehab assignment, generating a 1.96 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 18:6 K:BB across 18.1 innings between four outings with Triple-A Worcester and two with Double-A Portland. The southpaw built up to 68 pitches in his final rehab start over the weekend, so he could have a light workload restriction in place while he slots into the spot in the Boston rotation that previously belonged to Connelly Early (elbow), who was moved to the IL last week.

Keys went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's win over the Giants.

With George Springer still out of the lineup, Keys made his sixth straight start and put together a strong effort. The rookie has gone 5-for-21 (.238) to begin July with a homer, four runs and five RBI in those six games, but a shaky 38.1 percent strikeout rate. Springer could be back in action as soon as Wednesday, which would leave Keys without a clear path to regular playing time.

Bruihl (ankle) logged two scoreless innings in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.

Bruihl had to be lifted from an outing Monday with a right ankle sprain, but he bounced back quickly and was available for the Cardinals' next game. Though he got off to a slow start this season, the lefty reliever has settled in nicely with a 1.31 ERA and 16:4 K:BB over 20.2 innings covering his last 15 appearances.

Devers went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Blue Jays.

Devers hit a leadoff single in the second inning before coming around to score San Francisco's first run. The veteran infielder has reached base in 11 straight games, batting .333 with 10 runs scored, nine RBI and six home runs in 45 plate appearances during that span. He's now slashing .246/.312/.476 with 47 RBI, 46 runs scored and 18 long balls across 385 plate appearances this season.

Arraez went 2-for-4 with an RBI double in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to Toronto.

Arraez singled in the third inning and lined an RBI double to right field in the fifth, driving in San Francisco's final run. He's reached base in 10 of his last 11 games, batting .372 with five runs scored, four RBI, a home run and a stolen base in 48 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .327/.364/.462 with 45 runs scored, 34 RBI, seven stolen bases and four long balls across 380 plate appearances this season.

Cruz will serve as the Royals' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Mets.

He'll draw his second start of the season, though Cruz is expected to work just one or two innings before giving way to the bullpen. Randy Dobnak hasn't been used since making a four-inning relief appearance last Thursday against the Rays, so the Royals could turn to him to cover multiple frames out of the bullpen once Cruz exits the contest.

Walker went 3-for-8 with with a two-run home run and a second run scored across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.

The breakout slugger gave his squad an early 2-0 lead in the matinee by taking Jacob Misiorowski deep, but it was pretty much all downhill from there for the Cardinals as they got swept. Walker has homered three times in the last seven games, giving him 21 long balls on the season, and during that stretch he's batting .348 (8-for-23) with two doubles, nine runs, 10 RBI and more walks (six) than strikeouts (five).

Dobbins (1-1) took the loss in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Brewers, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The 26-year-old right-hander didn't pitch poorly, but he left the mound with St. Louis in a 3-0 hole that the offense never climbed out of. Dobbins was up as the 27th man for the twin bill, and he's likely headed back to Triple-A Memphis soon enough. Over five appearances (three starts) in the majors this year, Dobbins has posted a 4.03 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 23:10 K:BB in 22.1 innings.

Atlanta recalled Mederos from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Atlanta is swapping in Mederos for Connor Thomas, who was optioned to Triple-A after covering 3.2 innings out of the bullpen in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates. Mederos made one two-inning scoreless appearance for Atlanta earlier this season and holds a 5.40 ERA and 39:22 K:BB over 43.1 frames at the Triple-A level in 2026.

Atlanta optioned Thomas to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Thomas was called up Tuesday and allowed four runs over 3.2 innings in a loss to the Pirates. Atlanta is replacing him with a fresh bullpen arm, summoning Victor Mederos from Gwinnett.
