Contreras is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Contreras started the previous six games and will receive a day off after posting a .231/.286/.231 slash line during that stretch. Gary Sanchez is working behind the plate in the series finale for the Brewers.

McNeil was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Marlins.

McNeil was initially slated to serve as the designated hitter, but Jonah Heim will instead handle those duties. The A's haven't indicated that the late lineup change was the result of an injury or illness, so McNeil may simply be getting the afternoon off after going 2-for-20 over the last seven contests.

Lee is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Lee had settled in as the Tigers' primary option at second base to close out June, but he looks to have moved into more of a part-time role since the calendar flipped to July. He'll be on the bench for the third time in four games to begin the month while Zach McKinstry grabs a start at the keystone.

Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Marte will retreat to the bench after he served as the Royals' designated hitter in each of the last three games while going a collective 2-for-9 at the plate. All three of those starts came against left-handed pitching, and Marte appears unlikely to break out of a short-side platoon role anytime soon. He's logged 116 plate appearances on the season, with 88 coming against lefties.

Loftin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

After missing a game last weekend due to a bruised groin, Loftin started at third base in the ensuing four contests and went 1-for-12 with two walks and an RBI. He'll head to the bench in what looks to be a routine rest day, paving the way for Josh Rojas to pick up a start at the hot corner.

Buxton was removed from Sunday's game against the Yankees due to an aggravation of a right hip injury, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

The center fielder was caught stealing after singling in the first inning -- which ended a streak of 37 straight successful steal attempts going back to 2024 -- before being lifted from Sunday's contest. Buxton had just rejoined the lineup Saturday after sitting out four contests due to a hip impingement, and it's not yet clear if the aggravation is more severe than the initial injury. He'll have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery and should be considered day-to-day heading into Tuesday's series opener versus Cleveland.

Winn (elbow) struck out two in a scoreless inning during a rehab outing with the Giants' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate in its 9-5 win over the ACL Athletics on Friday.

Winn was placed on the 15-day injured list June 14 with a right elbow strain and resumed throwing a little over a week later before returning to game action Friday. The right-hander started the contest and threw 10 of his 15 pitches for strikes. He's worked exclusively out of the bullpen for San Francisco this season, recording a 3.23 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 26:9 K:BB across 30.2 innings in 29 appearances.

Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Realmuto launched a two-run homer during Saturday's contest but will hit the bench Sunday for the second time in the past three games. Garrett Stubbs is picking up a start behind the plate Sunday for Philadelphia.

Cavalli was lifted midway through the third inning of his start Sunday against the Pirates due to an apparent injury, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports. He allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.1 innings prior to departing.

Fresh off striking out a career-high 13 batters while yielding just one hit over seven innings in his previous start Tuesday in Boston, Cavalli was unable to keep the momentum going. He needed 63 pitches to record his seven outs, and seemed to be pitching through an injury during the start. His velocity was down from its usual levels throughout the afternoon, and he was visited on the mound by the Nationals' athletic trainer at one point during the second inning before leaving the game one frame later. Expect manager Blake Butera to shed light on Cavalli's condition when he address the media following Sunday's game.

Buxton was removed from Sunday's game against the Yankees prior to the bottom of the first inning due to an apparent injury, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

After reaching base on an infield single in his first at-bat, Buxton was thrown out trying to steal second base, ending a streak of 37 consecutive successful attempts that dated back to May 1, 2024. More significantly, the star center fielder appeared to suffer an injury on the play. The Twins should provide an update on Buxton's condition later in the day, but he had missed four consecutive starts due to a right hip impingement before he returned to the lineup Saturday.
