Jo Adell RF | LAA
Angels' Jo Adell: Launches grand slam in rout
Adell went 2-for-4 with a grand slam, a walk and three runs scored in Thursday's 11-4 win against the Yankees.
Adell delivered the knockout blow Thursday, crushing a grand slam off Ryan Yarbrough to put the game out of reach in the eighth inning. The long ball was his third of the season and second in his last three games, showing a glimpse of the power he flashed in 2025 with 37 homers. Adell has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball during April, batting 19-for-58 (.328) with 11 RBI.

Mike Trout CF | LAA
Angels' Mike Trout: Fourth straight day with homer
Trout went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, three walks and three runs scored in Thursday's 11-4 win against the Yankees.
Trout continued to dominate New York pitching, launching his seventh homer of the season -- and fifth of the four-game series -- while also drawing three walks, including an intentional pass that showed the Yankees' respect for his power. After a brief slowdown to begin April, Trout has caught fire again, going 9-for-23 with 12 RBI, 11 runs scored and six walks over his last six games. Following three injury-plagued and underwhelming seasons, the 34-year-old is showing strong signs of returning to his elite form, with early production suggesting a potential return to 30-plus home run territory, if he can stay fairly healthy.

Brent Suter RP | LAA
Angels' Brent Suter: Tagged for one run in spot start
Suter did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Yankees, allowing one run on three hits and two walks while striking out two over two innings.
Making his first start of the season, Suter was punished early, when he served up an 88-mph fastball that Aaron Judge launched into the seats in the first inning. The southpaw followed up with a 30-pitch second inning that resulted in stranding two runners in scoring position to limit further damage. Despite the hiccup Thursday, Suter has been a great bullpen arm for the Angels to open 2026, maintaining a 2.40 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and a 15:6 K:BB across 15 innings.

Max Fried SP | NYY
Yankees' Max Fried: Takes first loss
Fried (2-1) took the loss Thursday against the Angels, allowing five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings.
Fried took a punch early when he surrendered his first long ball of the season, a two-run homer by Oswald Peraza in the opening frame, but the left-hander settled in quickly and kept Los Angeles hitless over the next four innings. Things unraveled in the sixth when the Fried allowed three consecutive baserunners, bringing home a run and forcing his exit with two runners on -- both of whom later scored. Thursday marked the first time this season Fried failed to complete six innings after opening the year with four straight quality starts. Due to that prior success, the 32-year-old still holds a 2.97 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB across 33.1 innings this season, and he is lined up to face Boston in his next start.

Luke Williams SS | ATL
Braves' Luke Williams: Back with Atlanta
Williams and Atlanta agreed on a minor-league contract Thursday.
Williams elected free agency Wednesday after being designated for assignment by Atlanta on Monday, but he will now return to the organization. The 29-year-old will look to impress with Triple-A Gwinnett in an attempt to potentially earn another shot with the major-league roster later this year.

Peter Lambert RP | HOU
Astros' Peter Lambert: Officially starting Friday
Lambert will start Friday's series opener versus the Cardinals, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Lambert is expected to have his contract selected from Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday ahead of his Astros debut. The right-hander has appeared in three contests, including two starts, with Sugar Land this season, allowing three runs on 11 hits and three walks while striking out 12 batters over 14.2 innings.

Justin Sterner RP | ATH
Athletics' Justin Sterner: Implodes in second loss
Sterner (0-2) blew the save and took the loss Thursday against the Rangers, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and one walk in the ninth inning. He struck out one.
Sterner was called upon for his first save chance of the year while the Athletics held a 6-5 advantage, but he was unable to protect the lead in the ninth inning. While the A's have a pretty wide open competition when it comes to save opportunities, Sterner isn't making much of a case for future chances. The right-hander owns a 4.66 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 10:5 K:BB over 9.2 innings thus far.

Nick Kurtz 1B | ATH
Athletics' Nick Kurtz: Racks up season-high three RBI
Kurtz went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a walk in Thursday's 9-6 loss to Texas.
The 23-year-old slugger collected a season-high three RBI on Thursday, also posting his fourth multi-hit effort of the year. Although Kurtz mashed right-handed pitching to the tune of a 1.153 OPS a year ago, he's off to a sluggish start versus right-handers in 2026. He has a .650 OPS through 42 at-bats against righties so far, though Kurtz did enter Wednesday with an elite 58.6 percent hard-hit rate overall and should find his power stroke soon enough.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Mark Canha: Granted release
Canha was granted his release by the Rangers on Thursday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
Canha will get a chance for a fresh start after opening the 2026 season at the Rangers' extended spring training site. He has yet to play in any contests so far this year. The veteran has appeared in games with the Mets, Brewers, Tigers, Giants and Royals over the last three seasons, and he'll look for another major-league opportunity in the near future.

Jacob Lopez RP | ATH
Athletics' Jacob Lopez: Still struggling to find plate
Lopez took a no-decision Wednesday against the Rangers, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks in five innings. He struck out five.
The left-hander is making a habit of issuing free passes -- he's now walked at least three in each of his first four starts of 2026. Lopez has fanned at least five in three consecutive outings, but he's yet to give up fewer than two runs in any appearance thus far. His next start currently projects for next week in Seattle versus the division-rival Mariners, but Lopez owns a 6.38 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and an alarming 16:17 K:BB through 18.1 innings and will be tough to trust in fantasy lineups.
