Alvarez (ankle) is batting second as the designated hitter Sunday against the Rays, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The 29-year-old slugger is rejoining the lineup for Sunday's series finale after sitting the past two contests due to a right ankle injury. Alvarez will look to shake off a slow start to September that has seen him post a .212/.350/.364 slash line with one homer through his first nine games of the month.

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Ramirez is batting .111 (5-for-45) through his first 11 games of September and will hit the bench Sunday after starting the previous five contests. Angel Genao will step in at the hot corner and bat seventh in the series finale at Minnesota.

Semien is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The veteran second baseman started the previous nine games and will take a seat Sunday after posting a .242/.333/.333 slash line during that stretch. Brett Baty (knee) is returning from a two-game absence to man the keystone while Nick Morabito picks up a start in left field.

Walker (ankle) is starting in right field and batting cleanup Sunday against the White Sox.

The 24-year-old outfielder was held out of the lineup Saturday after exiting Friday's contest due to an ankle issue, but he's good to go for the series finale versus Chicago. Walker has been scuffling at the plate over his past seven games, going 3-for-23 with two walks, a double and eight strikeouts.

Tovar is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Tovar started the previous three contests and will hit the bench Sunday after going 3-for-8 with a walk, a solo homer and two additional runs scored during that span. Cole Carrigg will play shortstop in the series finale.

Jensen went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Red Sox.

Jensen laced a slider from Ranger Suarez down the right-field line to get the Royals on the board in the sixth inning. The young catcher has been on fire at the plate, slashing .317/.432/.800 with seven homers, 14 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base over his past 16 contests. On the year, Jensen is slashing .231/.318/.452 with 24 homers, 71 RBI, 73 runs and two stolen bases in 138 games.

Caglianone (elbow) came off the bench and went 0-for-1 in Saturday's 5-1 loss against the Red Sox.

Caglianone pinch hit for Kyle Isbel in the eighth inning, striking out on four pitches before Josh Rojas replaced him defensively. Saturday marked Caglianone's first game action since Sept. 5, as he's dealing with a left flexor strain. Seeing the 23-year-old get an at-bat is a positive sign, but it remains to be seen if he'll be penciled into Sunday's lineup or be able to play defense. On the year, Caglianone is slashing .282/.331/.493 with 23 homers, 70 RBI, 66 runs and six stolen bases in 132 contests.

Norby is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Detroit, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Norby started the previous four games and will receive a day off after going 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's contest, boosting his OPS in September to .793 through 10 contests. Adael Amador will shift to the keystone Sunday while Mickey Moniak serves as the DH, opening up right field for Troy Johnston.

Karros is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Karros started the past five games after returning from a concussion Tuesday, going 3-for-19 with a triple and a solo homer, and he'll get a breather Sunday. Vimael Machin will step in at the hot corner and bat seventh for the Rockies in the series finale.

Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Goodman will take a seat Sunday after starting the previous five games as he continues to struggle offensively with a .122/.200/.286 slash line across his past 13 contests. Brett Sullivan is working behind the plate and batting eighth in the series finale for Colorado.
