Clayton Kershaw SP | LAD
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Included on NLDS roster
Kershaw is included on the Dodgers' NLDS roster.
Kershaw wasn't on the roster for the NL Wild Card Series against Cincinnati, but he'll now officially be available to pitch against the Phillies. The Dodgers have already confirmed Shohei Ohtani, Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow as their starting arms for the NLDS, so Kershaw will move to the bullpen to provide aid to a Dodgers bullpen that has struggled to limit runs recently.

Bryan Woo SP | SEA
Mariners' Bryan Woo: Misses out on ALDS roster
Woo (pectoral) isn't on the Mariners' roster for the ALDS, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Woo missed the final couple of weeks of the regular season due to right pectoral inflammation. He tossed a bullpen session Thursday that the Mariners considered successful, but evidently not successful enough to include him in the team's pitching plans for its ALDS matchup against the Tigers. The 25-year-old will be eligible to return in the ALCS if Seattle advances.

Luis Gil SP | NYY
Yankees' Luis Gil: On ALDS roster
Gil is listed on the Yankees' roster for the ALDS.
Gil was left off the Yankees' active roster during the wild-card round, but he'll now officially rejoin the pitching staff ahead of his start in Game 1 on Saturday. The 27-year-old righty faced the Blue Jays once in the regular season, giving up just one earned run on three hits and four walks while striking out one batter over six innings.

Max Scherzer SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Max Scherzer: Excluded from ALDS roster
Scherzer isn't listed on the Blue Jays' ALDS roster.
After posting a 9.00 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 25 innings across his final six starts of the regular season, Scherzer will now watch the ALDS from the sidelines. He could rejoin the active roster prior to the ALCS if the Blue Jays advance past the Yankees, but the veteran's recent performance may prevent him from seeing much action for the duration of Toronto's postseason run.

Chris Bassitt SP | TOR
Blue Jays' Chris Bassitt: Not on ALDS roster
Bassitt (back) isn't included on the Blue Jays' ALDS roster.
Bassitt was expected to be available for the ALDS after ending the regular season on the injured list due to back inflammation, but the Jays will instead give the veteran righty additional time to heal. He will be eligible to rejoin Toronto's pitching staff for the ALCS if the team prevails over the Yankees in the ALDS.

Bo Bichette SS | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Left off ALDS roster
Bichette (knee) isn't listed on the Blue Jays' ALDS roster.
Bichette has yet to resume running since suffering a PCL sprain in his left knee in early September, so his absence from the ALDS roster doesn't come as much of a surprise. The 27-year-old will be eligible to return for the start of the ALCS, provided the Jays make it that far, though he will first need to make significant strides in his recovery. Until then, Andres Gimenez will continue to act as Toronto's primary shortstop.

Mike Clevinger RP | CHW
Mike Clevinger: Enters open market
Clevinger elected free agency Friday, Jack Ankony of SI.com reports.
The White Sox attempted to use Clevinger out of the bullpen to begin the season -- an experiment that resulted in the 34-year-old allowing five earned runs in just 5.2 innings before being DFA'd in April. He spent the rest of the season in the rotation at Triple-A Charlotte, turning in a 4.20 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 100.2 frames. He will likely have to settle for a minor-league deal in the offseason in order to land his next gig.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Cubs' Matthew Boyd: Starting Game 1 of NLDS
Boyd will start against the Brewers on Saturday in Game 1 of the NLDS, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports.
Boyd threw just 58 pitches across 4.1 innings during his start against the Padres in Game 1 of the NL Wild Card Series on Tuesday, leaving him fresh enough to take the mound again Saturday after only three days of rest. The 34-year-old southpaw struggled against the Brewers in the regular season, giving up nine earned runs on 12 hits and eight walks while striking out five batters in 10.1 frames across his two starts against them.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Available to catch in NLDS
Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Smith (hand) will be available to catch against Philadelphia during the NLDS, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Roberts didn't say whether Smith will be behind the dish in Game 1 on Saturday, but the skipper's comments are a good sign that the 30-year-old backstop is nearing his 2025 postseason debut. Smith's .901 OPS in the regular season set a new personal best for a season in which he logged at least 400 plate appearances, so his return to the starting nine will provide a significant boost to a Dodgers squad looking to defend its 2024 World Series title.
