Hill (back) is starting in center field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Twins.

Hill has been dealing with a tight back but is ready to start Tuesday in Minnesota. The 30-year-old has been decent as a small-side platoon option for Chicago this year with a .701 OPS in 73 plate appearances.

Montgomery is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Montgomery started the previous 17 games and will receive a day off after going 15-for-66 (.227 average) with three doubles, four homers and a 31.5 percent strikeout rate during that span. Luisangel Acuna is picking up a start at shortstop Tuesday for the White Sox.

O'Hoppe isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

O'Hoppe will grab a seat on the bench after going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts during the series opener Monday. Sebastian Rivero will take over behind home plate Tuesday and bat eighth.

Neto (neck) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Neto will miss a second consecutive start after being scratched from Monday's lineup due to whiplash following his collision at the plate Saturday. Oswald Peraza will pick up another start at shortstop and bat seventh with Neto out.

Walls (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.

The shortstop was removed from Monday's game as a precautionary measure due to hamstring tightness, and he'll be held out of the starting nine for at least one game. Ben Williamson is stepping in at shortstop Tuesday in Walls' stead.

Verlander (hip) reported to Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday for a rehab assignment, Emily Waldon of Baseball America reports.

The 43-year-old has been building up his arm in extended sessions of live batting practice rather than full rehab games, but he'll head to Triple-A for at least one minor-league outing. Verlander threw 66 pitches across four innings during his last session, and he should continue to build up from there with Toledo. If all goes well Tuesday, Verlander's next game appearance could come with the Tigers.

The Angels recalled Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old southpaw will return to the majors to give the Angels another fresh arm in the bullpen, replacing Jose Fermin. Aldegheri has given up three earned runs in 5.2 innings with the Halos this season but has struggled considerably in the minors, posting a 7.24 ERA and 1.72 WHIP through 46 frames at Salt Lake. He'll likely be limited to low-leverage work as long as he's with the big club.

The Angels optioned Fermin to Triple-A Salt Lake following Monday night's game.

Fermin had a scoreless streak of nine appearances entering Monday's game versus Colorado, but he would blow the save by allowing five runs across two-thirds of an inning. With his demotion, the Angels recalled Sam Aldegheri from Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Interim manager Chad Tracy said Tuesday that Crawford (elbow) is dealing with moderate tightness in his right forearm, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Crawford initially landed on the injured list at the start of the regular season after undergoing wrist surgery last July, but he's now had multiple setbacks with his forearm while ramping up his rehab. The Red Sox will pull back on the intensity of his recovery program following his latest flare-up, and he remains without a firm return timeline.

The Guardians optioned Halpin to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old has been up with Cleveland for the past month but will head back to Columbus with Steven Kwan (personal) coming off the bereavement/family medical emergency list Tuesday. Halpin batted .167 (5-for-30) with a double and two stolen bases in 18 games while up with the big club.
