Chris Murphy RP | CHW
Red Sox's Chris Murphy: Optioned down
The Red Sox optioned Murphy to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
Murphy threw three scoreless innings in Saturday's loss to Detroit, bringing his ERA and WHIP down to 3.12 and 1.18, respectively, over 34.2 innings with the big club this season. Jose De Leon was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move and will start the Red Sox's regular-season finale versus the Tigers. Murphy will likely stay active in case he's needed out of the bullpen at some point in the postseason.

Trevor Megill RP | MIL
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Officially activated
The Brewers reinstated Megill (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.
As expected, Megill will join the 28-man active roster for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Reds. Megill had been sidelined since Aug. 24 due to a right flexor strain, so the Brewers are likely to have him make an appearance in Sunday's contest in order to shake off some rust before the NLDS. Before landing on the shelf, Megill had been serving as the Brewers' closer and posted a 2.54 ERA and 30 saves over 46 innings.

Red Sox's Jose De Leon: Called up, starting Sunday
The Red Sox selected De Leon's contract from Triple-A Worcester, and he will start Sunday's regular-season finale against the Tigers, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
With the Red Sox locked into a wild-card spot and not in contention for the AL East title, they will give De Leon his first big-league opportunity since 2023. Chris Murphy was optioned in a corresponding move. De Leon put up a 6.93 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 75.1 innings with Worcester this season.

Harrison Bader CF | PHI
Phillies' Harrison Bader: Getting breather Sunday
Bader is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.
His streak of 18 consecutive starts comes to an end in the Phillies' regular-season finale, with Brandon Marsh patrolling center field in his stead. Bader had served as Philadelphia's leadoff hitter in 17 consecutive games before Sunday, but now that Trea Turner is back from the injured list, Bader could move back down the batting order during the postseason.

Bo Bichette SS | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Unlikely for wild-card round
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Sunday that it's "pretty unlikely" that Bichette (knee) would be available if Toronto plays in the wild-card round of the playoffs, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Bichette is taking part in some activity, including light hitting and throwing, but he's still not running, per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. A left knee sprain put Bichette on the injured list back on Sept. 9. The Blue Jays can clinch the AL East title and a first-round bye with a win or a Yankees loss Sunday.

Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Sitting in Game 162
Realmuto is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Twins.

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Sitting season finale
Arenado is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs.

Jazz Chisholm CF | NYY
Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Out with sore forearm
Chisholm (forearm) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Orioles.
The AL East crown is still up for grabs, but Chisholm won't be in the lineup after being hit in the left forearm by a pitch in the fifth inning of Saturday's 6-1 win. X-rays were negative, however, and Chisholm said he considers himself available off the bench Sunday even while he's still dealing with some swelling and soreness, per Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. With 31 homers and 31 steals on the campaign, Chisholm is one of seven players to join the 30-30 club this season.

Max Lazar P | PHI
Phillies' Max Lazar: Optioned to FCL
The Phillies optioned Lazar to the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Sunday.
Lazar will be the casualty on the 28-man active roster as the Phillies make room for shortstop Trea Turner's (hamstring) return from the injured list. The right-handed reliever has posted a 4.79 ERA and a 26:12 K:BB across 41.1 innings for Philadelphia this season.
