Ray did not factor into Sunday's decision against the White Sox, allowing four runs on two hits and seven walks while striking out three across four innings.

Ray put the Giants behind early after giving up a leadoff home run to Chase Meidroth in the first inning. Ray struggled with his command, logging only 47 strikes on 92 pitches while issuing a career-worst seven walks, and he allowed at least two baserunners in four of the five innings he pitched. Ray has given up 14 runs (13 earned) over his last two starts, ballooning his numbers to a 4.60 ERA and 1.38 WHIP over 58.2 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for next weekend on the road against the Rockies.

Meidroth went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-5 loss to the Giants.

Meidroth got the White Sox on the board early with a leadoff home run off Robbie Ray in the first inning, though the former failed to reach base safely in each of his next four plate appearances. It was Meidroth's fourth home run of the season, and over his last five games, he has gone 5-for-20 with one home run, three RBI and three runs scored.

Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix said Sunday that White is recovering from "a bit of a shoulder thing," Kyle Sielaff of Marlins.tv reports.

Triple-A Jacksonville placed White on its 7-day injured list, but Bendix indicated that the injury isn't a long-term concern for the 21-year-old lefty, who is regarded as one of the organization's top pitching prospects. Assuming he's able to rebound quickly from the shoulder issue, White will have plenty of time to build momentum for a potential promotion to the big leagues later on this season. White had compiled a 4.34 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 25:9 K:BB in 18.2 innings through his first five starts with Jacksonville prior to landing on the IL.

Vargas went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and an additional run scored during the White Sox's 8-5 loss to the Giants on Sunday.

Vargas reached base safely three times Sunday, highlighted by his solo home run in the seventh inning to cut the White Sox's deficit to three runs. It was his 12th home run of the season, six of which have come in 21 games since May 1, and he is well on track to surpass his 16 homers in 2025. Vargas has an .876 OPS with eight steals, 31 RBI and 21 extra-base hits in 221 plate appearances this season.

Brown (shoulder) struck out five and gave up one hit and no walks over two scoreless innings Sunday in a rehab start for Double-A Corpus Christi.

Brown opened his rehab assignment on a high note, spotting 21 of his 35 pitches for strikes while generating seven whiffs. The Houston ace is eligible to return from the injured list June 1, but general manager Dana Brown said earlier Sunday that the Astros are targeting the middle of next month for his activation, per Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. The Astros are planning for Brown to build up to around 75 pitches prior to adding him back to the rotation, so he'll likely need at least two more starts in the minors to complete his ramp-up process.

Schultz (2-4) took the loss against the Giants on Sunday, allowing six runs on six hits and one walk while striking out one batter across four innings.

It was another tough outing for Schultz, who has given up at least three earned runs in each of his last four starts. He put the White Sox in an early 4-1 hole through three innings before being charged for another two runs in the fifth after Grant Taylor gave up a grand slam to Rafael Devers. Schultz now sits at a 5.82 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 33:22 K:BB across 38.2 innings this season and has been tagged with the loss in three of his last four appearances. His next start is tentatively slated for next weekend at home against the Tigers.

Nishida is expected to have his contract selected from Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Nishida will join the White Sox in Chicago ahead of a four-game series against the Twins. The 25-year-old has produced a .347 average with one home run, 10 RBI, 33 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 124 at-bats in 33 games with Charlotte so far this season. Nishida has operated primarily as a second baseman at the Triple-A level, but he has combined to draw 10 starts in the outfield as well.

Devers went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an RBI double during the Giants' 8-5 win over the White Sox on Sunday.

Devers opened things up with an RBI double in the first inning, but his biggest contribution came in the fifth, when he smacked a grand slam off Grant Taylor to give the Giants an 8-4 lead. Devers struggled to a .537 OPS through the first 31 games of the regular season but has been much better at the place since May 1, posting a .935 OPS with five home runs, nine doubles and 14 RBI in 90 plate appearances this month.

Astros general manager Dana Brown said Sunday that Diaz (oblique) is expected to begin a rehab assignment during the first week of June, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Per MLB.com, Diaz is in the midst of a running and hitting progression as he works his way back from a left oblique strain, which sent him to the injured list May 5. He looks as though he could be ready to hit against live pitching at some point during the upcoming week, and if all goes well, the Astros could map out a rehab assignment for the 27-year-old backstop soon thereafter. Christian Vazquez has been serving as Houston's primary catcher since Diaz hit the shelf.

Meyers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during the Astros' 8-5 win over the Cubs on Sunday.

Meyers opened Sunday's scoring with a solo home run of Shota Imanaga in the second inning. It was Meyers' first extra-base hit since returning from the 15-day injured list Tuesday and his second home run of the season. He is slashing .231/.293/.385 with one steal and five RBI across 58 plate appearances this season.
