The Marlins acquired Hinds from the Reds on Thursday in exchange for Zach McCambley, Isaac Azout of FishOnFirst.com reports.

Hinds had been designated for assignment by Cincinnati and will now get a fresh start in a new organization. The 25-year-old has huge raw power and has slashed .306/.423/.635 with seven home runs in 23 games this season at Triple-A Louisville. The downside with Hinds is that he has major contact issues, having posted a 42.0 percent strikeout rate thus far at the big-league level. Hinds will likely report to Triple-A Jacksonville initially.

The Diamondbacks released Curtiss on Friday.

After making 30 appearances out of the Arizona bullpen in 2025, Curtiss was outrighted off the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster in November and ended up re-signing with the organization on a minor-league deal. He failed to win a spot in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen and hadn't made a case for a promotion while pitching at Triple-A Reno, where he posted a 4.02 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across 15.2 innings over 12 appearances. Now a free agent, the veteran right-hander will look to catch on elsewhere.

Henry (elbow) has posted an 8.18 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 7:4 BB:K in 11 innings through three starts with Triple-A Reno since being reinstated from the 7-day injured list May 7.

Henry didn't make any appearances in the majors or minors after June 10 last season after undergoing what was reported as a traditional Tommy John surgery on his left elbow. Given the timing of the surgery, Henry had been expected to be on the shelf for most of the 2026 campaign, but Jack Sommers of SI.com relayed April 21 that the previous report was erroneous, and the southpaw had actually opted for an internal brace procedure on his elbow. The procedure ended up shaving considerable time off of Henry's rehab program, as he was able to begin pitching in rehab games in the lower levels of the minors by mid-April, about 10 months after he went under the knife. Though he made a speedy return from the elbow operation, Henry has struggled to regain command and control since joining the Reno rotation and is unlikely to be a factor at the big-league level anytime soon.

Silseth (1-1) allowed an unearned run on a hit with two strikeouts and a walk over one inning to take the loss Wednesday against the A's.

Silseth entered in the 10th inning with the game tied at 5-5 and was unable to prevent the automatic runner from crossing the plate. Despite picking up his first loss, Silseth hasn't allowed an earned run since April 25, although he has a worrisome 1.42 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB over 6.1 innings during that span. His 2.16 ERA through 21 appearances this season is strong, but a 1.62 WHIP and 16:13 K:BB offer a less encouraging outlook.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Thursday that Verlander (hip) is "inching forward more than sprinting forward" with his rehab, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Verlander completed a four-inning, 62-pitch simulated game Wednesday and is slated to face hitters again next week after doing some throwing this weekend. Hinch noted that the veteran hurler has taken "no steps back" but added that Verlander is not yet ready to face major-league hitters. It seems the 43-year-old could still be at least a couple weeks away from rejoining the Tigers' rotation. Verlander is working his way back from left hip inflammation.

Sisk threw a perfect inning with one strikeout in a 7-0 win over St. Louis on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old entered in the seventh inning and struck out Nathan Church en route to his eight scoreless showing in the last nine appearances. Sisk has recorded a 1.71 ERA through his first 21 innings this season, though he's primarily been limited to middle relief thus far while picking up two holds and no saves.

Burke pitched two-thirds of an inning and picked up the hold after allowing two earned runs on two hits and no walks in a 9-4 win over Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Burke entered the game in the bottom of the sixth with Cincinnati holding a three-run lead. The 29-year-old allowed a single to Brandon Marsh, which was followed up by a two-run home run by Edmundo Sosa to cut the Reds lead to 5-4. Despite the rocky appearance, Burke picked up his fifth hold of the season. Before this outing, the left-hander allowed just one earned run over his previous seven relief appearances.

Strahm received an injection Monday to help with symptoms of right knee inflammation, MLB.com reports.

Strahm was placed on the injured list Saturday after patellar tendinitis flared up during his outing Friday. While a formal recovery timeline hasn't been established, the southpaw plans to keep his arm in shape as much as possible while rehabbing his knee back to full strength. Before being shelved, Strahm logged 16.1 innings with a 3.86 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB in 2026.

Bruihl threw two scoreless innings while striking out two batters in a 7-0 loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

Bruihl entered the game for St. Louis in the sixth inning with the bases loaded and the Cardinals trailing 2-0. The 28-year-old got out of the jam and proceeded to strike out Bryan Reynolds and Oneil Cruz in the top of the seventh. Bruihl has allowed just one earned run over his past seven appearances (6.1 innings) as he continues to fill a middle-relief role.

Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said that Church was scratched from Thursday's lineup versus the Pirates because he's "just a little beat up," Brenden Schaeffer of MLB.com reports.

Church was removed from a game earlier this month after being hit on the left leg by a pitcher, though it's unclear whether this is related to that. Marmol indicated he would prefer to stay away from using Church off the bench Thursday, but the outfielder should be ready to play this weekend in Cincinnati. Jose Fermin is drawing a start in left field Thursday in Church's place.
