Singer (2-3) took the loss Tuesday, giving up three runs on six hits and a walk over 3.2 innings as the Reds fell 10-4 to the Nationals. He struck out two.

All three runs came on solo shots -- two in the third inning by James Wood and Luis Garcia and another in the fourth by Daylen Lile that helped chase Singer from the game. The right-hander wasn't the only Reds pitcher to have a rough night as Great American Ball Park lived up to its reputation, as Washington launched six homers in total. Singer's had issues keeping the ball in every stadium of late, as he's been taken deep eight times in his last four starts, stumbling to a 6.38 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB over 18.1 innings during that span. He'll try to turn things around in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road this weekend in Cleveland.

Bailey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.

In four games with his new team, the switch-hitting Bailey has been in the lineup both times against righties and out of the lineup on both occasions versus lefties. While Bailey could continue to sit against southpaws, it's also possible his absence from Wednesday's lineup is simply due to it being an afternoon game after he started Tuesday night. Another factor into the decision to sit Bailey is that Parker Messick is Wednesday's starter, and Austin Hedges has been his personal catcher.

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

With lefty Reid Detmers on the hill for the Angels, the left-handed-hitting Manzardo will get a break after he had started in each of the Guardians' last four games. Rhys Hoskins will step in for Manzardo at first base and will bat cleanup.

Lile went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Reds.

The 23-year-old outfielder launched a solo shot off Brady Singer in the fourth inning before adding a three-run homer off Luis Mey in the fifth. The big night snapped a 16-game power drought for Lile in which he was batting just .200 (11-for-55) with four doubles. On the season, Lile's slashing a somewhat disappointing .264/.331/.423 with five long balls, two steals, 19 RBI and 26 runs, but he may be turning things around -- he's hit safely in five straight games and has extra-base hits in three straight.

Kwan is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus the Angels.

The left-handed-hitting Kwan will receive a rare day of rest as the Angels send southpaw Reid Detmers to the bump for Wednesday's matinee. David Fry, Angel Martinez and Chase DeLauter will form the Guardians' outfield trio in the series finale.

Garcia went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Reds.

The 25-year-old infielder took Brady Singer deep in the third inning before leading off the top of the fifth with a shot down the right-field line off Sam Moll. Garcia came into the contest with only one homer in 36 games to begin the season, but his bat seems to be coming to life -- he's reeled off three straight multi-hit performances since returning to the starting lineup from a minor wrist issue, going 8-for-14 over that hot stretch with a double, a triple, two long balls, four runs and five RBI.

Mikolas didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Reds, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and two walks over 3.1 innings. He struck out two.

The veteran righty got plenty of offensive support on a night when the Nationals launched six home runs, but he couldn't stick around long enough to benefit from it as Mikolas got the hook after 71 inefficient pitches (45 strikes). Injuries to other pitchers would seem to be the only thing keeping Mikolas in the rotation at this point, as he's completed five innings only twice in nine outings (six starts and three bulk relief appearances). He'll take a 7.00 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 24:13 K:BB through 36 innings into his next trip to the mound, which is set to come at home this weekend against the Orioles.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Ohtani will be used only as a pitcher during Wednesday's game against the Giants, and the two-way star will remain out of the lineup for Thursday's series finale but will be available to pinch hit, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

After Ohtani went 0-for-5 at the dish in Monday's 9-3 loss in the series opener, Roberts indicated that the four-time MVP would get a day off from hitting either Wednesday or Thursday. Though Ohtani broke out of an extended funk at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 6-2 loss, Roberts won't deviate from his plan to rest the 31-year-old superstar during the Giants series. In fact, Ohtani now looks set to be out of the hitting lineup for both of the final two games of the series, though he'll take his normal turn through the rotation Wednesday. While he hasn't lived up to his incredibly high standard as a hitter so far this season with a .797 OPS -- his lowest mark since the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign -- Ohtani is on his way to a career-best season as a pitcher. He'll head into his seventh start of the season having maintained a 0.97 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 42:9 K:BB in 37 innings.

Rogers (2-4) took the loss Tuesday as the Orioles were downed 6-2 by the Yankees, coughing up six runs on six hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Activated from the injured list earlier in the day after recovering from a bad bout of the flu, Rogers served up a leadoff homer to Paul Goldschmidt before completely unraveling in the fifth inning, with New York's five-run rally capped by a Trent Grisham three-run blast. Rogers' velocity looked good early, as he topped out at 95.3 mph with his fastball, but it cratered in his final frame, prompting his removal after 73 pitches (46 strikes). It's been a tough 2026 so far for the southpaw, and through seven outings he carries a 5.77 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 30:13 K:BB through 34.1 innings, and he hasn't won a game since April 1. Rogers will try to regain both his form and his stamina in his next start, which lines up to come on the road early next week in Tampa Bay.

Schuemann went 1-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout, was caught stealing twice and committed an error in Tuesday's 6-2 win over the Orioles.

While Anthony Volpe was called up earlier in the day to replace Jose Caballero (finger) on the roster, it was Schuemann who got the nod at shortstop and batted eighth for the Yankees. Manager Aaron Boone has already indicated Caballero won't lose his starting job while on the IL, which could be a suggestion that Volpe won't see an everyday assignment in his return to the majors, but Schuemann didn't exactly put his best foot forward when given a chance. Since his own promotion in late April, Schuemann has gone 3-for-11 with two doubles and a 2:3 BB:K.
