Jarren Duran LF | BOS
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Remains at leadoff
Duran batted leadoff and went 0-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Orioles.
Duran remained the leadoff hitter even with the return of Roman Anthony from a sore back. Anthony has been Boston's primary leadoff batter this season. It was the third time in the last five games that Duran was atop the order, all coming against right-handers. With a managerial change -- Chad Tracy replaced Alex Cora following Saturday's game -- more changes could be coming.

The Diamondbacks optioned Valdez to Triple-A Reno on Monday.
Valdez served as the 27th man during the Mexico City Series versus the Padres over the weekend, but he did not make an appearance. The 28-year-old has hit only .211/.375/.263 in limited time between Double-A Amarillo and Reno in 2026.

Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Dropped to third in order
Anthony batted third and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's 5-3 win over Baltimore.
Anthony returned to action after missing four games due to a sore back. The Padres optioned Song to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.
Song was up with the big club as its 27th man during the Mexico City Series against the Diamondbacks over the weekend. Steven Kwan LF | CLE
Guardians' Steven Kwan: Returns from neck injury
Kwan started in center field and went 1-for-5 in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays.
Kwan had missed the last two games -- Friday was a planned day off and Saturday due to neck stiffness. He was back in the familiar leadoff spot, but less familiar is Kwan's career-low .225 average and .310 on-base percentage. A Gold Glove winner as a left fielder, Kwan has added center field to his resume this season, but manager Stephen Vogt deflected questions Saturday as to whether the new position is affecting Kwan's bat. In addition to the career lows in average and OBP, Kwan is below normal in hard-hit percentage (9.2) and average exit velocity (82.0 mph), and his percentage of weak contact has more than doubled compared to last year.

Lodolo (finger) allowed two hits and struck out seven over five scoreless innings for High-A Dayton on Sunday.

His first rehab was cut short when the blister resurfaced as he tried to throw a slider during a start for Dayton on April 2, per Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Return date updated
Moreno (oblique) is expected to rejoin the Diamondbacks during the series against the Cubs that begins Friday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
The most recent news had Moreno returning Tuesday for the series against the Brewers, but it's been pushed back until at least Friday. The Diamondbacks are getting by with backups behind the plate, but Adrian Del Castillo (finger) is day-to-day after being removed from Sunday's game. James McCann and Aramis Garcia are still on the 26-man roster to carry the catching load until Moreno and/or Del Castillo are ready.

Blue Jays' Jesus Sanchez: Homers, drives in three

Sanchez has been swinging the bat well of late, logging at least one hit in four of his last five games -- he's gone 4-for-13 (.308) with a pair of homers in that span. The 21-year-old has now homered in back-to-back starts while going 6-for-9 in that span. He's boosted his slash line to .233/.325/.452 with eight RBI and 10 runs scored through his first 83 plate appearances this season.
