The Brewers designated Bae for assignment Saturday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Bae will give up his spot on the active and 40-man rosters for Jonathan Ornelas, who was acquired from the Athletics on Saturday. Bae went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a steal during his time with Milwaukee and will likely spend the remainder of the season in the minors if he clears waivers.

The Brewers acquired Ornelas from the Athletics on Saturday in exchange for cash considerations.

Ornelas was pushed off the Athletics' 40-man roster Monday, but he'll reclaim a spot upon moving to Milwaukee. He'll report directly to the big club to help shore up the Brewers' infield depth as they navigate injuries to Brice Turang (knee) and Cooper Pratt (hamstring). Ji Hwan Bae was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Ward (quadriceps) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Saturday will mark Ward's third straight absence from the starting nine due to tightness in his quad. The Mariners haven't indicated that he'll require a trip to the IL, though that may change if he doesn't return to the lineup within the next couple of days. Victor Robles will start in right field and bat eighth.

Tucker isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Milwaukee, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Tucker will get a chance to reset Saturday after going 0-for-16 with three walks and four strikeouts across his last five games. Alex Call will patrol right field and bat eighth in Tucker's absence.

Diaz isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mariners, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Diaz will move to the bench Saturday after going just 5-for-27 (.185) at the plate to begin the month of August. Christian Vazquez will replace him as Houston's catcher and bat ninth.

The Guardians optioned Aleman to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Aleman has given up one run in 4.1 innings since coming up from Triple-A last week, but the Guardians will send him back to the minors in order to add a fresh arm to their bullpen in Logan Allen. Now sporting a 3.38 ERA through 18.2 MLB innings, Aleman has a strong chance to return to Cleveland at some point during the final stretch of the season.

The Guardians recalled Allen from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Allen has spent the majority of the season at Columbus, turning in a 4.37 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with a 112:35 K:BB across 94.2 innings. He'll now rejoin the big club to presumably provide length out of the bullpen, replacing Franco Aleman.

Marte (knee) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Atlanta.

Marte was pulled from Friday's game after aggravating a knee injury that had been bothering him for about a week. He'll take another day off Saturday to recover, giving Ildemaro Vargas a start at second base.

Goodman was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants due to left shoulder inflammation.

The severity of Goodman's issue is still unknown, but it will cause him to miss at least Saturday's contest. Brett Sullivan will step in behind the plate and bat eighth.

Gonsolin (elbow) threw a three-inning, 45-pitch live batting practice session in Arizona on Friday, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Gonsolin, who underwent Tommy John surgery with an internal brace in his right elbow in August 2025, inked a one-year deal with the Royals on Thursday as his recovery nears its final stages. Provided the right-hander doesn't experience any renewed discomfort, Kansas City hopes to send him on a rehab assignment soon. In 86 career outings with the Dodgers, Gonsolin posted a 3.34 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 411.2 innings, though injuries have been a recurring issue for the 32-year-old.
