  • Astros' Taylor Trammell: Outrighted to Triple-A

Trammell cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Sugar Land, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Trammell signed a split contract with Houston in November that would've paid him $900,000 if he were in the big leagues, but it now appears that he will begin the 2026 campaign in the minors. The 28-year-old outfielder owns a .632 OPS over 494 plate appearances in his big-league career and likely wouldn't serve as more than a bench piece if he made it back to the majors in '26.

  • Zach Brzykcy RP | MIA

Marlins' Zach Brzykcy: Outrighted to Jacksonville

Brzykcy cleared waivers Friday and was sent outright to Triple-A Jacksonville, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Brzykcy was claimed off waivers in November after he posted a 9.00 ERA and 1.74 WHIP in 23 innings with the Nationals this year. He'll remain in the organization but lose his roster spot, giving Miami an opening on the 40-man heading into the Rule 5 Draft.

  • Zak Kent SP | MIN

Cardinals' Zak Kent: Claimed by St. Louis

The Cardinals claimed Kent off waivers from the Guardians on Friday.

Kent was a full-time reliever for the first time in 2025. He posted a 4.58 ERA and 16:8 K:BB over 17.2 innings with the big club and a 2.84 ERA with 50 strikeouts over 38 frames at Triple-A Columbus. The righty will turn 28 in February and compete for a spot in the Cardinals' Opening Day bullpen.

  • Drew Romo C | CHW

Orioles' Drew Romo: Headed to Baltimore

The Orioles claimed Romo off waivers from the Rockies on Friday.

It wasn't that long ago that Romo looked like the Rockies' catcher of the future, but his progress stalled and Hunter Goodman emerged, leading Colorado to expose him to waivers. Romo is 9-for-54 at the plate during his brief time in the majors and slashed only .264/.329/.409 across 60 games in 2025 while playing his home games at hitter-friendly Triple-A Albuquerque. The Orioles already have Adley Rutschman and Samuel Basallo at the big-league level, so Romo will likely begin 2026 at Triple-A Norfolk, unless the club elects to carry three catchers.

  • Joshua Walker RP | BAL

Braves' Josh Walker: Designated for assignment

Atlanta designated Walker for assignment Friday.

Walker was a waiver claim of Atlanta in November and will now go through the waivers process again. The left-hander holds a career 6.59 ERA and 31:14 K:BB over 27.1 innings covering parts of three big-league seasons and does not have minor-league options remaining.

  • Anthony Molina SP | ATL

Braves' Anthony Molina: Scooped up by Atlanta

Atlanta claimed Molina off waivers from the Rockies on Friday.

Molina holds an ugly 6.96 ERA over 52 appearances at the major-league level after being taken in the Rule 5 Draft two years ago. The 23-year-old has primarily been used as a starter in the minors and will likely begin the 2026 campaign as rotation depth at Triple-A Gwinnett.

  • Osvaldo Bido SP | NYY

Braves' Osvaldo Bido: Claimed by Atlanta

Atlanta claimed Bido off waivers from the Athletics on Friday.

Bido flashed promise for the Athletics in 2024 with a 3.41 ERA and 24.3 percent strikeout rate, but he fell off to a 5.87 ERA and 18.7 percent strikeout rate in 2025. The 30-year-old does not have minor-league options remaining and will likely begin the 2026 season in a long-relief role with Atlanta, but he could make some starts for them.

  • Marco Luciano SS | NYY

Pirates' Marco Luciano: Claimed off waivers by Pirates

The Pirates claimed Luciano off waivers from the Giants on Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Luciano was one of the top prospects in baseball a few years ago, but he has not progressed as hoped, slashing just .217/.286/.304 over 41 games in the majors and .227/.351/.401 at the Triple-A level. He's still just 24, though, so the Pirates felt he was worth a roll of the dice. Luciano -- who does not have minor-league options remaining -- has primarily been a shortstop but shifted to left field at Triple-A Sacramento in 2025. It's unclear at this point what position the Pirates have planned for him.

  • Will Robertson RF | BAL

Orioles' Will Robertson: Claimed by Baltimore

The Orioles claimed Robertson off waivers from the Pirates on Friday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The 27-year-old outfielder made his big-league debut in 2025 for Toronto and also saw time for the White Sox before being claimed earlier this offseason by Pittsburgh. The lefty hitter slashed .289/.387/.571 with 20 home runs in 89 games at Triple-A in 2025. He has multiple minor-league option years remaining, so Robertson will likely open the year at Triple-A.

  • Mets' Cooper Criswell: Claimed off waivers by Mets

The Mets claimed Criswell off waivers from the Red Sox on Friday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

Criswell had been designated for assignment following Boston's five-player trade with Pittsburgh on Thursday. The 29-year-old has been a useful swingman for the Red Sox the last two seasons, holding a 4.00 ERA and 82:36 K:BB over 117 innings covering 19 starts and 14 relief appearances. Criswell does not have minor-league options remaining but is not yet arbitration-eligible, so the Mets will have several years of control of the righty.
