Cox went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.

Cox hit an RBI single on a bunt in the fifth inning and launched a solo shot to left field with two outs in the ninth. Over 14 outings in August, he recorded a .297/.350/.595 slash line with seven runs scored, six RBI, four stolen bases and three home runs in 40 plate appearances. Overall, he's slashing .286/.318/.556 with 12 runs scored, nine RBI, eight stolen bases and four long balls across 69 plate appearances on the year.

Knizner went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Monday's 7-3 win over Atlanta.

Knizner hit a double in the second inning and added a single in the sixth before coming around to score. The veteran catcher signed with San Francisco on Aug. 11 and has appeared in 11 games, slashing .222/.300/.407 with a home run and two additional runs scored across 30 plate appearances.

The Blue Jays acquired Rodriguez from the Dodgers on Tuesday in exchange for Sebastian Rodriguez.

Jose Rodriguez, 25, has logged a 3.38 ERA and 36:18 K:BB across 29.1 innings this season with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The right-hander figures to report to Triple-A Buffalo for now, but the Blue Jays could give him a look at some point this month.

The Nationals selected Simpson's contract from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Athletic reports.

Simpson has split this season between Double-A Harrisburg and Rochester, logging a 2.30 ERA and 73:38 K:BB over 58.2 innings. The 26-year-old southpaw will be making his major-league debut when/if he enters a game.

The Orioles recalled Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Andy Kostka of TheBanner.com reports.

After getting a late start to this season due to a hamstring strain, Kjerstad has slashed .289/.337/.462 with 11 home runs over 79 contests with Norfolk. The Orioles already have three left-handed or switch-hitting outfielders ahead of Kjerstad in the pecking order, so he's a long shot to receive regular playing time in September.

The Marlins recalled Pauley from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Pauley has struggled to make an impact in the majors this year with a .194/.228/.306 slash line in 46 games, but he'll return to the big club Tuesday with rosters expanding to 28 players. The 25-year-old should serve as a depth infielder for the Marlins.

The Marlins recalled Blalock from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.

Blalock was acquired from the Rockies in a trade back in January but has spent all season at Jacksonville, posting a 5.61 ERA and 103:46 K:BB over 109 frames covering 23 starts. The right-hander appears set to be deployed in long relief, though he could wind up making a start or two during the final month.

The Padres placed Rengifo (knee) on the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Rengifo was diagnosed with a complete ACL tear and MCL sprain of his right knee Monday, so the move to the 60-day IL is hardly a surprise with him out for the season. The 29-year-old opened the campaign with the Brewers but was cut loose after posting a .534 OPS in 57 games, but he then signed with the Padres and found success with a .784 OPS in 38 contests prior to the injury.

The Padres recalled Brito from Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

It will be the third look in the majors this year for Brito, who has made three relief appearances for the Friars and given up two earned runs with a 4:1 K:BB over 5.1 innings. The right-hander could provide some length given that he's worked out of the rotation at Triple-A, where he has a 2.98 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB across 42.1 innings this year.

The Reds recalled Brito from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

Brito was picked up from the Guardians at the trade deadline and is now poised to make his Reds debut. The 24-year-old slashed .176/.250/.255 in 15 games with Cleveland earlier this season and has collected a .725 OPS with 11 homers this year at the Triple-A level. Brito is primarily a second baseman but can handle every position on the infield.
