Braves' Michael Harris: Sitting again Friday

Harris (back) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Harris is on the bench again after initially exiting Tuesday's contest due to lower-back tightness, with Thursday's rainout not providing him with sufficient time to recover. Mauricio Dubon is shifting to center field for Atlanta while Jorge Mateo starts at shortstop.

Crews is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Tampa Bay.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Day off amid slump

Edwards is not in the lineup for Friday's contest versus the Giants.

It's just the second day off this season for Edwards, who is slashing only .192/.286/.192 so far in June. Javier Sanoja is getting a start at second base for the Marlins while Edwards clears his head.

  • Brandon Eisert RP | PIT

White Sox's Brandon Eisert: Serving as opener Friday

Eisert will be the White Sox's opening pitcher for Friday's contest in Detroit, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Erick Fedde will follow in bulk relief. Eisert has had three previous opening assignments this season, yielding two runs with a 4:1 K:BB over 3.1 innings in those outings.

  • Trei Cruz RF | DET

Tigers' Trei Cruz: Added to MLB roster

The Tigers called up Cruz from Triple-A Toledo, and he is starting in right field and batting ninth Friday against the White Sox, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

It will be the MLB debut for the 27-year-old Cruz, who is replacing Wenceel Perez (face) on the active roster. Cruz has a .228/.326/.333 slash line with two homers in 33 games at Toledo this year and is likely to operate primarily as a reserve outfielder while up in the majors.

  • Erick Fedde SP | CHW

White Sox's Erick Fedde: Will follow opener Friday

Fedde is slated to serve as the bulk reliever in Friday's game versus the Tigers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Lefty Brandon Eisert will open for the White Sox before handing things off to the right-handed Fedde. It will be the seventh bulk relief assignment this season for Fedde, who holds a 4.73 ERA and 19:12 K:BB over 26.2 frames in his first seven outings in such situations.

  • Yilber Diaz RP | DET

Diamondbacks' Yilber Diaz: Coming back to big club

The Diamondbacks recalled Diaz from Triple-A Reno on Friday.

Diaz is taking the roster spot vacated by the injured Ryne Nelson (elbow). The 25-year-old Diaz has made a full-time move to the bullpen at Reno this season, posting a 4.50 ERA and 43:21 K:BB over 32 innings.

  • Ryne Nelson SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Shelved by flexor strain

The Diamondbacks placed Nelson on the 15-day injured list Friday with a strained right elbow.

John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM says it's a partially torn flexor tendon for Nelson, who held the Angels to two runs over seven innings in his last start Monday. There's been no timetable provided by the Diamondbacks yet, but the nature of the injury points to the likelihood of a lengthy absence for Nelson. Brandon Pfaadt is a candidate to replace Nelson in the Arizona rotation.

  • Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Good to go Friday

Chisholm (groin) is starting at second base and batting fifth Friday against the Reds.

Chisholm exited Thursday's contest versus the White Sox after a fouling a pitch off himself but is back in action for Friday's series opener versus Cincinnati. The 28-year-old is batting just .178 (8-for-45) through 14 games in June, though he also has a triple, four homers, six steals, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored.

  • Wenceel Perez RF | DET

Tigers' Wenceel Perez: Moved to IL

The Tigers placed Perez on the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left orbital fracture, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

The outfielder was injured in the weight room earlier this week when a plyometric band struck him in the face, causing the fracture. It's unclear how long Perez is expected to be sidelined. Trei Cruz was called up in a corresponding move Friday.
