Wilson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a hit-by-pitch in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

The Athletics were down to their final out when Wilson tied the game with a blast off Paul Sewald in the ninth inning. While the A's ultimately lost one inning later, Wilson was able to extend his hitting streak to nine games. He has gone 16-for-38 (.421) with three homers and six RBI in that span. For the season, the shortstop is batting .291 with a .748 OPS, seven homers, 32 RBI, 30 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple and two stolen bases over 61 contests.

Lange recorded the season Tuesday against the Giants, striking out two and walking one over a scoreless ninth inning.

Lange was deployed in the ninth inning, tasked with protecting a one-run lead, and he worked around a Jung Hoo Lee walk by striking out two to secure his ninth save. While the clean outing helped quiet some recent concerns, he's likely not out of the woods. The right-hander blew the save in both of his first two appearances following the All-Star break, which came on the heels of a pair of five-run meltdowns to close the first half. Lange now owns a 6.15 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 41:23 K:BB across 41 innings this season.

Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

Langeliers sparked the Athletics' comeback effort with his eighth-inning blast. The catcher has gone 7-for-23 with three homers and six RBI during a six-game hitting streak. Overall, he's batting .260 with an .826 OPS, 23 long balls, 51 RBI, 55 runs scored, 18 doubles and two stolen bases over 91 contests.

Perkins allowed three runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Perkins gave up a three-run home run to Max Kepler in the first inning. After that Perkins settled in for a decent start, though the Athletics didn't catch up until the ninth inning. This was his longest outing in July -- he's allowed 13 runs over 11.2 innings in three appearances this month. Overall, Perkins has a 6.75 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 76:24 K:BB through 62.2 innings across 25 games (seven starts). He's tentatively projected for a home start versus the Red Sox early next week.

Carroll went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Athletics.

Carroll suffered a hyperextended right elbow Sunday that kept him out of the lineup Monday, but he played all of Tuesday's contest in right field. The outfielder is batting just .125 (7-for-56) in July, and he's racked up 20 strikeouts over 15 games this month. Overall, he's batting .249 with an .818 OPS, 14 home runs, 11 steals, 47 RBI, 56 runs scored, 20 doubles and 10 triples over 97 games.

Kepler went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and two walks in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Athletics.

This was Kepler's second multi-hit effort in a row and his fourth this season since he debuted June 26 following an 80-game suspension. The outfielder is batting .240 with a .706 OPS, two homers, 12 RBI, five runs scored and three doubles over 16 contests. Kepler has seen the bulk of the work in left field since Lourdes Gurriel (thigh) went on the injured list, though Ryan Waldschmidt is also in the mix when he's not in center field.

Mahle (2-9) took the loss Tuesday against the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four over five innings.

Mahle surrendered a solo homer to Carter Jensen in the third inning to open the scoring, though it was just the second home run he has allowed over his last 26.1 innings. He kept Kansas City in check after that but ran into trouble in the sixth, issuing a walk and hitting a batter before exiting the game. Sam Hentges and Keaton Winn were unable to strand the inherited runners, inflating Mahle's line. The veteran right-hander has completed six innings just once over his last 11 starts -- his final outing before the All-Star break -- and owns a 5.36 ERA during that stretch. Mahle is projected to make his next start at home against a difficult Brewers lineup.

Sewald allowed two runs on two hits and struck out two without walking a batter over one inning to take a blown save versus the Athletics on Tuesday.

Sewald served up a two-run home run to Jacob Wilson in the ninth inning, squandering the Diamondbacks' lead. Arizona went on to win in the 10th. Given his recent form, it was only a matter of time before Sewald took a blown save -- he's been scored upon in seven of his last 11 outings, giving up 11 runs over 10 innings in that span. For the season, he's 23-for-25 in save conversions while posting a 4.95 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 42:9 K:BB across 36.1 innings. Sewald's not in danger of losing the closer job yet, but his performance over the last month isn't inspiring confidence.

Drake allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Tuesday.

Drake threw 46 of 85 pitches for strikes in his major-league debut. He was able to limit the damage to an RBI single by Alika Williams in the third inning. Drake had managed an unsightly 6.92 ERA with a 60:31 K:BB over 66.1 innings with Triple-A Reno this season, but he showed well enough in his major-league debut to potentially get another look. If that happens, he's tentatively lined up for a tough road matchup versus the Nationals over the weekend.

Avila (5-3) earned the win Tuesday against the Giants, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven over 6.1 innings.

Avila was dominant early, allowing just one hit through his first four innings before the Giants strung together three consecutive hits in the fifth to produce a two-run frame. He set career highs with 6.1 innings and seven strikeouts while improving to 5-1 over his last six decisions. The right-hander has struggled at Kauffman Stadium this season, posting a 7.88 ERA at home compared to his 3.00 ERA on the road. Avila's next start is scheduled to be a road outing against the Tigers.
