  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Keeps running in loss

Ramirez went 0-for-1 with four walks, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 6-4 loss to Baltimore.

Ramirez swiped his ninth bag in nine attempts, seven of which have come in the last seven contests. A rocky first two weeks have given way to the feared batter opposing pitchers are accustomed to seeing. He entered Friday slashing .355/.459/.710 with three home runs, two doubles and five RBI over the previous eight games, which may explain why the Orioles walked him four times.

  • Daulton Varsho LF | TOR

Blue Jays' Daulton Varsho: Exits with knee discomfort

Varsho was removed from Friday's game against the Diamondbacks with left knee discomfort.

Varsho struck out during his lone at-bat before being replaced in center field in the third inning. More information on the severity of his injury will likely come out in the near future, and if the 29-year-old has to miss any amount of time, Myles Straw would be the next man up to start in center field.

    Casey Mize SP | DET

Red Sox's Ranger Suarez: Throws eight scoreless Friday

Suarez did not factor into the decision in Friday's 1-0 extra-inning win over the Tigers, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out four over eight scoreless innings.

Suarez worked eight strong innings but was locked in a pitchers' duel with Casey Mize for most of the contest. Despite throwing just 55 of 93 pitches for strikes and generating only four whiffs, the 30-year-old has now tossed 14 straight scoreless frames without allowing an extra-base hit after yielding eight combined runs over his first two starts with the Red Sox. He'll carry a 3.22 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB across 22.1 innings into a home matchup against the Yankees next week.

  • Giants' Drew Gilbert: Hits first homer of season

Gilbert went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during San Francisco's 10-5 win over Washington on Friday.

Gilbert extended the Giants' lead to 7-1 after smacking a solo home run off Zack Littell in the fourth inning. It was Gilbert's first hit and home run of the season and the fourth long ball of his major-league career (across 42 regular-season games). He should see a fair amount of playing time in the outfield for as long as Harrison Bader (hamstring) and Jared Oliva (wrist) are both on the 10-day injured list.

  • Heliot Ramos LF | SF

    Zack Littell SP | WAS

Giants' Heliot Ramos: Hits three-run blast vs. Washington

Ramos went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional RBI during the Giants' 10-5 win over the Nationals on Friday.

Ramos got the Giants on the board with a three-run home run off Zack Littell in the second inning, and the former was responsible for San Francisco's 10th and final run after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the ninth. Ramos has recorded at least one hit in eight of his last 10 outings, and over that span he has gone 9-for-34 (.265) with nine RBI.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Stays hot

Schneemann went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Orioles.

Schneemann's seventh-inning grand slam broke a scoreless tie, but the Guardians' bullpen gave it all back and then some a half inning later. The utility infielder has hit in six consecutive games, going 10-for-20 with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI and four runs scored. He started at shortstop Friday but has been all over diamond. Cleveland is getting very little production at shortstop or second base, which could lead to a near-everyday role for Schneemann, who is batting .313 over 16 games played.

  • Giants' Casey Schmitt: Smacks solo homer Friday

Schmitt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during the Giants' 10-5 win over the Nationals on Friday.

Schmitt extended the Giants' lead to 9-4 in the seventh after belting a solo home run off Paxton Schultz. It was Schmitt's second long ball of the season and his fifth multi-hit game, four of which have come over his last 10 games. In that 10-game span, he has gone 14-for-38 (.368) with five RBI, four doubles and seven runs scored.

  • Ben Rice 1B | NYY

Yankees' Ben Rice: Homers again in win

Rice went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-2 win over the Royals.

Rice gave the Yankees an early lead with a two-run blast in the fourth inning before adding a single and scoring a run in the eighth. It marked his second straight game with a homer and his sixth overall this season. While he's sitting against most lefties to open the campaign, the 27-year-old is slashing an impressive .339/.459/.746 with 12 extra-base hits, 16 RBI, 18 runs scored and one steal across 74 plate appearances.

  • Matt Chapman 3B | SF

    Zack Littell SP | WAS

Giants' Matt Chapman: Collects three RBI Friday

Chapman went 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored during the Giants' 10-5 win over the Nationals on Friday.

Chapman extended the Giants' lead to 5-0 after a two-run single off Zack Littell in the second inning, and the third baseman drove in another run in the fourth. It was the seventh multi-hit game of the season for Chapman, and his three hits tied a season high that he set April 7 against the Phillies. His 23 hits are tied for ninth in the National League, and he has opened the 2026 season slashing .291/.333/.405 with 11 runs scored, one home run and 11 RBI over 84 plate appearances.

  • Daylen Lile RF | WAS

    Logan Webb SP | SF

Nationals' Daylen Lile: First home run of 2026

Lile went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during the Nationals' 10-5 loss to the Giants on Friday.

It took until the 20th game of the regular season for Lile to go long, with his two-run home run off Logan Webb in the fourth inning reducing the Nationals' deficit to 8-3. Despite the lack of power, Lile has had success getting on base, reaching base safely in seven of his last eight outings. Over that eight-game span, he has gone 10-for-34 (.294) with one steal, three RBI and four runs scored.
