Whisenhunt (3-3) allowed one run on four hits, three walks and a hit batsman while striking out two over 5.2 innings to earn the win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Whisenhunt had arguably his best outing of the season so far, though it was mostly because the Astros couldn't capitalize on many of their chances. Still, Whisenhunt had allowed 14 runs over his three previous starts, so this was a step in the right direction. The southpaw has a 6.11 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 22:18 K:BB through 28 innings over six starts this season, and that walk rate is likely to remain a problem. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Cleveland.

Brown (3-2) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four over five innings to take the loss versus the Giants on Tuesday.

Brown threw 56 of 89 pitches for strikes in a decent outing, but the Astros didn't give him much help. The right-hander has surrendered 12 runs over 28.1 innings while adding a 28:13 K:BB over five starts since the All-Star break, providing solid but unremarkable pitching in most of his outings in that stretch. For the year, he's at a 3.68 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 67:35 K:BB through 63.2 innings over 12 starts. Brown's next start is projected to be in a favorable home matchup versus the Angels.

Barnett (1-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Rays, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits and three walks while failing to record a strikeout over four innings.

Barnett surrendered a two-run homer to Junior Caminero in the first inning before running into more trouble in the fourth, when Taylor Walls and Yandy Diaz launched back-to-back bombs. The right-hander recorded just one whiff on 67 pitches as he failed to punch out a single hitter. He has now allowed three home runs in consecutive outings and has surrendered 14 runs (13 earned) across 13.1 innings while working as a traditional starter over his last three appearances. Barnett owns a 6.50 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 35:18 K:BB across 36 innings this season. He may need to show out in his next scheduled outing against a weak Kansas City offense if he wants to make a case to remain in the rotation.

Tawa went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

Tawa is batting .302 (13-for-43) with two home runs, five RBI and four steals over 11 games in August. He's settled into a starting role at first base, and it appears the steady playing time is helping him gain some confidence on the basepaths. His production isn't exactly rooted in stability -- he's also struck out 13 times this month. Overall, Tawa is batting .236 with a .673 OPS, six home runs, six steals, 26 RBI and 21 runs scored through 64 contests.

Marte went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

Marte has gone 5-for-12, including three extra-base hits, over his last three games. The second baseman had picked up just one over the six contests prior to this turnaround. While his first-inning blast Tuesday gave the Diamondbacks a 2-0 lead, they weren't able to add to the score after that. Marte is batting .249 with a .758 OPS, 21 homers, 66 RBI, 63 runs scored, 23 doubles, three triples and four stolen bases over 115 games this season.

Carroll went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Rockies.

Carroll has gone 6-for-26 (.231) with four extra-base hits and four RBI over his last seven games. The outfielder gave the Diamondbacks a quick start on offense with his first-inning blast Tuesday. For the year, Carroll is batting .241 with an .805 OPS, 17 homers, 56 RBI, 73 runs scored, 24 doubles, 13 triples and 16 stolen bases over 117 contests.

Quero went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the Reds.

Quero has been in the lineup for three of four games since he was promoted to the majors, with all of those starts coming against lefties. The usage makes it unclear whether he will play ahead of Drew Romo against righties, or if the two will operate in more of a platoon while the White Sox are without Kyle Teel (ankle) and Joey Bart (hand). Quero has at least taken advantage of his opportunity to this point by going 2-for-8 with three walks and no strikeouts following his call-up from Triple-A Charlotte.

Bratt allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Tuesday.

Bratt cruised until giving up a game-tying home run to Kyle Karros in the sixth inning. He's allowed just three runs over his last 18 innings while adding a 15:8 K:BB in that span. Bratt won the battle to stay in the rotation even after Michael Soroka returned from a glute injury, and with none of Arizona's other starting pitchers on the injured list expected back before September, Bratt is poised for a few more turns through the rotation. The 23-year-old has logged a 3.74 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 25:19 K:BB through 33.2 innings over his first seven starts in the majors. He's tentatively lined up to make his next start on the road in Boston.

Carrigg went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Carrigg has started to use his speed more in August, collecting four steals over 10 games this month. He's hitting .289 (11-for-38) in that span, including five doubles, though he hasn't homered since July 26. The rookie outfielder is batting .295 with an .876 OPS, five homers, seven steals, 30 RBI, 35 runs scored, 14 doubles and three triples across 52 contests this season.

Karros went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Karros had gone 1-for-12 with a walk and two strikeouts over his previous four games. His homer Tuesday ended a 19-game stretch without a long ball. The third baseman hasn't been able to tap into much consistent power this year with just 10 homers over 112 contests. He's slashing .265/.361/.424 with 44 RBI, 58 runs scored, 20 doubles, two triples and five stolen bases.
