Meckler is not in the starting lineup Thursday night against the Athletics, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Back in starting nine

Meckler (head) is starting in left field and batting third Monday against the Diamondbacks, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Meckler was lifted from Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay after he ran into the wall in center field during the fourth inning. However, he managed to avoid a significant injury and will be right back in the lineup for Monday's series opener. Meckler is 2-for-14 with one double, two RBI and three runs scored over his last five appearances.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Going to be fine after early exit

Meckler (head) is expected to be fine after exiting Sunday's 8-3 loss to the Rays in the fifth inning, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Meckler ran into the center field wall while trying to track down a fly ball off the bat of Ben Williamson in the top of the fourth inning, which ultimately went over his head for a home run. Meckler hit his head in the process, and he was removed from the game an inning later out of precaution. The outfielder can be considered day-to-day for the time being ahead of Monday's series opener on the road against the Diamondbacks.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Reaches four times in victory

Meckler went 1-for-2 with a double, three walks, three runs and two RBI in a 10-1 win over the Astros on Tuesday.

Meckler continued what has been an excellent start to his tenure with the Angels, reaching base in four plate appearances for the second time over his past seven games. The 26-year-old registered one of his team's two extra-base hits with a double and crossed the plate three times. Meckler has started each of the Angels' past seven games and has taken over as the team's primary left fielder. He's slashing an impressive .340/.417/.547 with two homers, 10 runs, 12 RBI, two stolen bases and a 7:10 BB:K through 60 plate appearances.

This was Meckler's fifth multi-hit effort in just 12 games this season. The outfielder has quickly claimed a decent share of the playing time in left field for the Angels, serving as a strong-side platoon option. He's batting .389 with two home runs, 10 RBI, five runs scored, three doubles and two stolen bases over 38 plate appearances.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Riding pine for series finale

Meckler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Cranks first career grand slam

Meckler went 2-for-4 with a grand slam and an additional run scored in Saturday's 14-3 win over the Rays.

Meckler ripped his first career grand slam Saturday to double his RBI total for the season. The left-handed-hitting outfielder has been effective in his strong-side platoon role with Jose Siri in left field so far. Over his first 26 at-bats, Meckler is hitting .308 with two home runs, three runs and two stolen bases.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: On bench against lefty

Meckler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

After being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday when Josh Lowe was demoted in a corresponding move, Meckler started in left field in the first two games of the series with Texas, going 3-for-6 with a home run, a walk and three RBI. Though he'll be on the bench Sunday against Rangers southpaw MacKenzie Gore, Meckler's solid pair of performances following his call-up could allow him to hold down a strong-side platoon role in the short term.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Launches three-run homer in win

Meckler went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk in Friday's win over the Rangers.

Meckler couldn't have wished for a better Angels debut. His contract was selected from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday just a few hours before this game, and he ended up launching a three-run homer in his first big-league at-bat since the 2023 season. He reached base three times in the win, and he might remain in the lineup over the next few days to see if he can add some much-needed offense to a struggling Angels lineup. Los Angeles has a .630 collective OPS since the beginning of May -- the fourth-worst mark in the majors.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Joins big-league club

The Angels selected Meckler's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.

With struggling Josh Lowe being sent down to Salt Lake, Meckler is getting a chance with the big club after slashing .312/.444/.477 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 20 runs scored, six stolen bases and a 26:22 BB:K across 136 plate appearances between Double-A and Triple-A this season. Meckler last appeared in the big leagues in 2023 with the Giants, when he hit .232 with a .578 OPS in 64 trips to the plate. Meckler is starting in left field and batting sixth for the Angels on Friday against the Rangers.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Slated to be called up

Meckler is starting in left field and batting sixth for the Angels in Friday's game against the Rangers, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Official moves have yet to be announced, but Meckler's presence in the starting lineup -- along with Donovan Walton -- indicates that the Angels will make some moves to open up spots on the 26-man roster prior to Friday's game. Meckler has spent the majority of the 2026 season with Double-A Rocket City, where he is slashing .343/.449/.525 with six steals, four home runs and 12 RBI across 119 plate appearances. He last saw major-league action in 2023 with the Giants, when he went 13-for-56 (.232) with four RBI and six runs scored.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Remains in organization

The Angels outrighted Meckler to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

He's no longer on the 40-man roster, but Meckler will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 25-year-old slashed .287/.390/.370 at Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants organization in 2025, though he hit just one home run across 87 games.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Booted from 40-man roster

The Angels designated Meckler for assignment Wednesday.

The Angels needed to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of waiver claim Kaleb Ort (elbow). Meckler was a waiver claim himself earlier this month and will now go through the waiver process again. He slashed .287/.390/.370 at Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants organization in 2025 but swatted only one home run over 87 contests.

  • Angels' Wade Meckler: Snagged on waivers by Angels

The Angels claimed Meckler off waivers from the Giants on Wednesday.

Meckler got a cup of coffee in the big leagues in 2023 but has been stuck in the minors the last two seasons. The 25-year-old slashed .287/.390/.370 at Triple-A Sacramento in 2025, though he managed just one home run in 87 contests. Meckler can handle all three outfield spots and also played some second base for Sacramento last season, which should give him a better chance of cracking the Angels' Opening Day roster.

  • Giants' Wade Meckler: Designated for assignment

The Giants designated Meckler for assignment Friday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With Adrian Houser's signing becoming official Friday, Meckler will end up as the roster casualty necessary to make room on San Francisco's 40-man roster. The 25-year-old outfielder slashed .287/.390/.370 across 401 plate appearances at Triple-A Sacramento this past season, but he hasn't appeared in an MLB game since 2023. His ability to play across the outfield and at second base will help his chances of being claimed by another club. However, his chances of contributing in the majors are slim.

  • Giants' Wade Meckler: Back in action at Triple-A

Meckler (undisclosed) has gone 3-for-14 with a 5:4 BB:K and two runs in four games since being reinstated from Triple-A Sacramento's 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Meckler was out of action at Triple-A for nearly two months before being cleared to rejoin the Giants' Pacific Coast League affiliate after a three-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. The 25-year-old possesses a spot on the Giants' 40-man roster, but a return to the big leagues doesn't appear to be imminent.

  • Giants' Wade Meckler: Missing in action

Meckler has not played for Triple-A Sacramento since March 29.

He was placed on the 7-day injured list March 30, and then there was an erroneous transaction note on his MiLB page saying he was activated April 3, but he's still tending to the undisclosed injury six weeks after suffering it. Meckler went 3-for-6 with two walks, two steals and zero strikeouts in two games before getting hurt.

The Giants optioned Meckler to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Meckler comes up short in his bid to win a reserve outfielder job. The 24-year-old will play regularly at Sacramento while waiting for another opportunity in the majors.
