The Rangers recalled Peoples from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday.

Peoples was just optioned this past weekend, but he's back to grab the roster spot vacated by the injured Nathan Eovaldi (elbow). The righty reliever has permitted three runs with a 6:3 K:BB over 12.1 frames during his time with the Rangers this season.

The Rangers placed Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list Monday with right posterior elbow inflammation.

There's no word yet on how much time Eovaldi might miss, but if there's a silver lining it's that the elbow injury is not related to his UCL. Eovaldi has been slated to start Wednesday's game against the Angels, but the Rangers will likely turn to Cal Quantrill to make that start.

Carter is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Angels on Monday.

The Rangers are facing a southpaw for a second consecutive game, so Carter will be out of the lineup against while the Rangers start Ezequiel Duran, Wyatt Langford and Brandon Nimmo in the outfield from left to right. Carter has also struggled at the plate recently, having gone 1-for-22 with two RBI and seven strikeouts over his last eight outings.

Tucker is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup against the Royals on Monday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Tucker will get an off-day in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak, during which he has gone 9-for-24 with two home runs, three RBI and six runs scored. Tommy Edman will draw the start in left field, shifting Teoscar Hernandez to right while Miguel Rojas gets the nod at the keystone.

White is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Rays.

He had made 20 consecutive starts, but with Zack Gelof returning from the injured list, White's playing time against right-handers could dip moving forward. White has posted a meager .548 OPS with zero home runs, eight runs and one RBI in his first 21 games in the majors. The Athletics will deploy Gelof at third base and Jeff McNeil at first base Monday.

Tovar is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Cole Carrigg will draw the start at shortstop while Tovar retreats to the bench for the Rockies' series opener in Arizona. Tovar had started in each of the last seven games, going 8-for-24 with one home run, one double, two walks, five runs and three RBI.

Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy said Monday that Rutschman (wrist) is expected to be activated off the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Rutschman has travelled with the Red Sox to Toronto to undergo multiple workouts, but it looks like the 28-year-old catcher is on track to make his debut with Boston at the Rogers Centre. His return means less reps behind home plate will be available for both Connor Wong and Jake Rogers, though Rutschman could be deployed as the designated hitter for the first few games back from the IL upon his reinstatement.

The Athletics designated Ornelas for assignment Monday.

The move corresponds with the Athletics activating Zack Gelof (knee) from the 10-day injured list. Ornelas was brought up by the Athletics on July 31 to provide depth both in both the infield and outfield and went 2-for-12 with one walk and seven strikeouts across six games.

Torres is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Phillies.

Jose Fermin will receive the nod in left field while Torres heads to the bench for the series opener. With the Cardinals moving Lars Nootbaar to the Diamondbacks a week ago, Torres has settled in as the team's primary option in left. Torres occupied that spot in the outfield in six of St. Louis' previous seven games, going 3-for-19 with three walks, two runs and one RBI.

The Diamondbacks optioned Strowd to Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Arizona called Strowd up from Triple-A on Friday, but he didn't end up pitching out of the bullpen during the team's weekend series against the Dodgers. He'll head back down to Triple-A, where he's submitted a 6.63 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over 36.2 innings. In a corresponding move, Arizona reinstated Michael Soroka (glute) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Monday against Colorado.
