Taylor allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Guardians. He did not strike out or walk a batter.

Taylor had earned three holds over his last five appearances but didn't log a save in that span. Save chances have been limited for all of the White Sox's bullpen lately, but Taylor should have a clearer path to ninth-inning duties after Chicago offloaded Seranthony Dominguez to Seattle ahead of the trade deadline. Taylor has a 2.28 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 78:19 K:BB across 59.1 innings while adding six saves, eight holds and three blown saves this season. The White Sox will likely need to generate more save chances to potentially boost Taylor's status.

Liberatore (5-9) took the loss against Colorado on Saturday, allowing five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three batters over five innings.

Liberatore fell behind quickly, giving up a homer to Jake McCarthy to begin the game. Though that was the only long ball the hurler allowed, he surrendered three more runs in the third inning and an additional tally in the fifth. It was the fifth time this season Liberatore has given up at least five earned runs in an outing, and four of those performances have come over has past nine appearances. Though Liberatore has improved his K/9 to a career-best 8.7 this season, he's otherwise struggled with a 5.15 ERA through 113.2 innings.

Kay (9-5) allowed two runs on six hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out four over six innings to earn the win over the Guardians on Saturday.

This was a second straight quality start to begin August for the left-hander. He's allowed two runs over his last 12.1 innings, though he has just a 7:2 K:BB during that span. It's the first time he's covered at least six frames in consecutive starts this season. Kay has a 3.96 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 94:43 K:BB through 116 innings over 24 appearances (22 starts) on the year. Kay is projected for a road start in Detroit in his next outing.

Romano allowed one run on two hits while striking out one batter over one inning against the Cardinals on Saturday to notch a save.

Romano got the call from the bullpen in the ninth inning with the Rockies up three runs. He needed the cushion, as the veteran reliever allowed a pair of singles to give up a run. However, Romano was able to strike out Cesar Prieto to finish off the save. Though it wasn't smooth, Romano's ability to convert the save should be a sigh of relief for his fantasy managers after he blew a save opportunity in his last appearance Aug. 4 versus Tampa Bay. He appears to have a pretty firm grasp on Colorado's closer role, converting six of seven save chances since joining the big-league roster July 4.

Freeland allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 4.1 innings in a no-decision against St. Louis on Saturday.

Freeland recorded his first career complete game in a win over Kansas City his previous time out, but his outing Saturday went in an entirely different direction. The left-hander's inefficiency resulted in his shortest start since May 26, as he needed 101 pitches to get through 4.1 frames. However, Freeland's ERA actually improved since two of the three runs against him were unearned, courtesy of a first-inning passed ball by Hunter Goodman on what would have been an inning-ending strikeout. Freeland's 6.63 season ERA is still the second worst in MLB among pitchers who have thrown at least 100 frames, though he's projected for a favorable matchup in San Francisco for his next start.

Holliday went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-1 loss to Texas.

Holliday accounted for Baltimore's entire scoring output Saturday, and it's worth noting he's hit third in the lineup in consecutive games. The infielder was hitless in 18 previous at-bats to begin August, which makes for a disappointing start to the month after he hit .368 and turned in a .500 on-base percentage in July. Holliday is slashing a career-best .242/.349/.388 with six homers, six doubles, 21 RBI and five stolen bases over 212 plate appearances this year.

Alvarado was charged with a blown save Saturday against Toronto, giving up two runs on one hit and two walks in two-thirds of an inning. He struck out one.

With the Phillies holding a 4-2 lead in the eighth inning, Alvarado was unable to bridge the gap to the ninth frame ahead of closer Jhoan Duran on Saturday. It's been a major struggle for the left-hander as a setup man in 2026, as he's worked to a 5.77 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 56:19 K:BB with 10 holds over 43.2 innings.

Bradish (7-11) took the loss against the Rangers on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out four.

A pair of throwing errors, one by Bradish himself and then Gunnar Henderson, helped Texas plate two runs in a sloppy second inning by Baltimore's defense. The right-hander's swing-and-miss stuff has waned a bit recently, as he's registered five strikeouts or fewer in seven consecutive starts after fanning at least nine in his prior two outings to that stretch. Bradish will take a 3.69 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 121:54 K:BB over 127 innings into his next scheduled appearance against the Rays in pitcher-friendly Tampa Bay.

Vasquez will start Sunday's game against the Astros in San Diego, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Vasquez will be making a second straight turn through the rotation after he tossed a gem his last time out Tuesday, holding Arizona scoreless over six innings while allowing just three baserunners. However, he struck out just one batter in the outing and now maintains a lowly 15 percent strikeout rate for the season. That rate places him 90th among the 94 pitches in the majors that have covered at least 100 innings this season.

DeGrom (8-7) notched the win against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out nine.

Jackson Holliday tagged deGrom for a solo shot in the opening inning, but that was all Baltimore would muster on the scoreboard Saturday. The nine strikeouts were the star right-hander's most since June 30 in Cleveland, and it was an encouraging bounce-back performance after he gave up seven hits in each of his prior three outings. DeGrom will bring a career-worst 3.87 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 144:30 K:BB over 118.2 innings into his next scheduled appearance in Anaheim against the division-rival Angels.
