Interim Red Sox manager Chad Tracy said that Suarez (groin) is in the mix to return from the 15-day injured list to start Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The left-hander was scheduled to come off the injured list to start Tuesday's contest, but Eduardo Rivera was instead named the starter for that game before it was ultimately postponed due to inclement weather. Suarez is apparently experiencing some soreness after recently testing out his groin and is also feeling a bit under the weather, which prompted Boston to move back his return. Even if Suarez doesn't end up taking the mound in Wednesday's nightcap, he could still be back in the Red Sox's rotation later this week.

The Dodgers transferred Smith (neck) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Smith isn't expected to return to the Dodgers' lineup until at least mid-August, so his move to the 60-day IL won't have any impact on his return timeline. The move will, however, free up a spot on the 40-man roster for Charlie Barnes, who was selected from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Rivera won't start as scheduled Tuesday against the Orioles since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Ranger Suarez (groin) was initially poised to come off the injured list to start Tuesday, but the Red Sox then announced Rivera as their starting pitcher before the game was ultimately postponed. The rookie left-hander could pitch in Wednesday's doubleheader, but Suarez also remains in the mix to start the nightcap.

The Dodgers optioned Knack to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Knack has given up five runs in five innings since making his season debut July 11, so the Dodgers will send him down to Triple-A to get back on track. Charlie Barnes will come up from the minors to fill the resulting vacancy in the bullpen.

Carroll (elbow) is starting in right field and batting third Tuesday against the Athletics, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

The 25-year-old is back in the lineup as expected Tuesday after sitting out Monday's series opener due to a hyperextended right elbow. The fact Carroll is returning to the lineup so quickly and is playing the field rather than being eased back in as the designated hitter indicates the injury isn't a significant concern.

Lowe is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Cardinals.

Lowe went 0-for-3 with a walk and a strikeout in the series-opening 3-2 win over the Cardinals on Tuesday. As the 28-year-old sits Tuesday, Jose Siri starts in left field, batting eighth.

Bradish won't start Tuesday against the Red Sox since the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

The game will be made up via a doubleheader Wednesday, during which Bradish will presumably pitch one of those contests. The right-hander, who has a 3.61 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 106:50 K:BB across 107.1 innings through 19 starts this season, is fresh off signing a five-year, $90 million extension with the Orioles on Saturday.

Guzman is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Cardinals.

Vaughn Grissom will start at the hot corner and bat fifth Tuesday while Guzman rests on the bench. With Grissom at third, Oswald Peraza is taking over at second. Guzman has gone 4-for-19 with a home run across the last six games.

The Athletics recalled Muncy from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.

With Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (groin) facing an extended stay on the injured list, Muncy will rejoin the big club to bolster its infield depth. The 23-year-old owns just a .699 OPS through 175 plate appearances in the majors this season, but he's gone 7-for-20 with two homers, five RBI and five runs scored in five games since his demotion to Triple-A on July 8. He and Tommy White will likely compete for starts at the hot corner until Kuroda-Grauer is healthy.

Manager Matt Quatraro said that Witt, who is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants, is still feeling "pretty stiff" as he continues to manage back spasms and tightness, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

The All-Star shortstop returned to the lineup Monday after missing one game due to lower-back tightness, but he was unable to finish the contest. Witt should be considered day-to-day for now, but it wouldn't be surprising if the Royals opt to give him a couple days off to recover since the injury is lingering. Tyler Tolbert is picking up a start at shortstop Tuesday for Kansas City.
