Duran went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk during the Red Sox's 13-1 win over the Athletics on Friday.

Duran got the Red Sox's scoring started with a two-run homer in the second inning, with Boston scoring three additional runs off Jack Perkins in the frame. Duran has struggled offensively for much of the season but has been far better at the plate as of late. Over his last seven games, he's gone 9-for-27 with two steals, three walks, three home runs and six RBI.

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 8-2 win over the White Sox.

Ramirez recorded his second consecutive game with multiple runs scored Friday. The 33-year-old swiped his 28th bag of the season in the first inning and then scored on a two-run single by Angel Martinez. On the campaign, the switch-hitting Ramirez has slashed .234/.334/.386 with 10 home runs, 35 RBI, 28 stolen bases and 52 runs over 369 plate appearances.

Gausman (6-10) earned the win Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over seven innings in a 6-4 victory over the Royals. He struck out four.

The veteran right-hander struck out exactly four batters for a second straight outing but generated 15 swinging strikes on 96 pitches as he secured the victory in his Cubs debut. It's just the second time all season that Gausman has completed seven frames after doing so 10 times over 32 regular-season starts for Toronto last year. After posting a 9.3 K/9 over 20 starts during the first half of the season, he's recorded just 15 strikeouts in 22 innings (four games) since the All-Star break and has a 4.09 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in that span.

The White Sox are expected to recall McDougal from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports.

McDougal rose through Chicago's farm system as a starter, but he's worked as a reliever since returning from a forearm injury in July and will presumably remain in that role with the Sox. He owns a 2.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 40:20 K:BB across 34.2 innings at Triple-A but has given up six runs in just 8.2 frames following his stint on the IL, so he likely won't receive many high-leverage opportunities in the majors.

Soderstrom went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during the Athletics' 13-1 loss to the Red Sox on Friday.

Red Sox southpaw Payton Tolle was dealing in Friday's start and had a no-hitter through five frames, but Soderstrom ended the no-hit bid with a solo home run to right-center field. It was his 18th long ball of the season and fourth since the All-Star break. It also extended his hitting streak to six games, during which he has gone 7-for-21 with three RBI and four extra-base hits.

Perkins (2-8) took the loss against the Red Sox on Friday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three across three innings.

Perkins no-hit the Red Sox through the first five innings of his last start against Boston on July 27. He could not replicate that success this time around at Fenway Park, with all five of the runs he gave up coming in the second inning, starting with a two-run homer by Jarren Duran. Perkins has allowed at least five runs in back-to-back outings and has a 7.04 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 76.2 innings this season. His next start is lined up for next week at home against the Rays.

The Cardinals are expected to designate Velazquez for assignment Saturday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The Cardinals need to free up a spot on the active roster after claiming Everson Pereira off waivers from the White Sox on Thursday, and Velazquez seems to be in line to become the odd man out. The 27-year-old has put up a .721 OPS in 83 major-league plate appearances this season, so he could draw interest from other clubs browsing the waiver wire for outfield depth.

Rumfield went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 3-2 loss to the Cardinals on Friday.

Rumfield scored both of Colorado's runs, crossing home plate on Troy Johnston RBI groundouts in the second and fourth innings. Despite connecting for just one long ball in his last 30 games, the 26-year-old has found other ways to contribute to the Rockies' offense. The rookie first baseman improved his batting average to .296, which ranks seventh in the National League. Rumfield is slashing .296/.374/.463 with 13 home runs, 58 RBI and 50 runs scored in 455 plate appearances on the season.

McCarthy went 3-for-4 with a double and a strikeout during Friday's 3-2 loss to St. Louis.

McCarthy extended his hitting streak to six games after recording three hits Friday. The 29-year-old also recorded his second three-hit game in his last three games. Over his last seven games, McCarthy is now slashing .355/.344/.548 with one homer, one steal and five RBI in 31 plate appearances.

Winn went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, a walk and two stolen bases in a 3-2 win over Colorado on Friday.

Winn started his evening with a double in the second and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from Bryan Torres. Winn then came up to bat in the sixth, drawing a walk and stealing second and third base. On the season, the 24-year-old has batted .239/.319/.319 with four home runs, 45 RBI and 10 stolen bases across 439 plate appearances.
