Garcia (elbow/neck/biceps) has been diagnosed with thoracic outlet syndrome and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Garcia will undergo further testing to decide if he needs surgery, but manager John Schneider said Garcia's season is likely over. The right-hander has pitched in just one big-league game since May 22 of last season, and he was recently pulled off his minor-league rehab assignment due to ongoing arm issues. Garcia turns 36 years old later this month.

Bauers (abdomen) will start at first base and bat third in Friday's contest versus the Twins.

Bauers missed each of the last three games with abdominal soreness, but he is feeling well enough to return to action for Friday's series opener against Minnesota. The 30-year-old is pacing the Brewers this season with 20 home runs and an .878 OPS.

The Twins selected Culpepper's contract from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

Culpepper will take over at shortstop for the Twins moving forward after slashing .271/.367/.478 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 63 runs scored, 17 stolen bases and a 39:64 BB:K across 343 plate appearances with St. Paul this season. With power and speed upside, Culpepper should be added in all fantasy formats. He's batting seventh in his major-league debut Friday against Brewers lefty Shane Drohan.

The Twins designated Rashi for assignment Friday.

Minnesota needed the spot on the 40-man roster for Kaelen Culpepper's promotion to the big leagues. Rashi was acquired from the Diamondbacks in June and has posted a 4.76 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 23:9 K:BB across 17 innings with Triple-A St. Paul.

The Twins placed Ryan on the 15-day injured list Friday with a left glute strain.

Imaging revealed the injury Thursday, and it's unclear at this point if Ryan will need to miss more than the minimum 15 days. With Ryan off to the injured list, Zebby Matthews has been summoned back from Triple-A St. Paul and will start Friday's game against the Brewers. Ryan owns a 3.65 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 138:27 K:BB across 125.2 innings spanning 23 starts this season.

The Twins optioned Gray to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

With top prospect Kaelen Culpepper promoted for his major-league debut, Gray will head back to the minors after slashing .225/.267/.324 with four homers, 29 RBI, 16 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 10:60 BB:K across 188 trips to the plate with the Twins this season. Culpepper should get a long runway at shortstop in Minnesota.

Devenski elected to become a free agent Friday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Devenski had been removed from the Pirates' 40-man roster, and he's decided to enter free agency rather than accept an outright assignment. The veteran hurler has permitted two runs over 2.1 innings covering three appearances in the majors this season.

The Guardians recalled Aleman from Triple-A Columbus on Friday.

With Slade Cecconi off to the 15-day IL with right arm fatigue, Aleman is back in the Cleveland bullpen. Aleman has pitched in 14 games for the Guardians this season, posting a 3.77 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 17:5 K:BB across 14.1 innings.

The Guardians placed Cecconi on the 15-day injured list Friday with right arm fatigue, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Cleveland recalled Franco Aleman from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. After working exclusively as a starter the first four months of the season, Cecconi was bumped to the bullpen this week following the team's acquisition of Foster Griffin. The transition hasn't gone well for Cecconi, who failed to record an out in Thursday's 13-6 loss to the Mets, while surrendering four runs on three hits and two walks with a wild pitch.

Myers is not in the lineup for Friday's contest against the Nationals.

He will receive a day of rest after starting in center field in each of the Reds' last four games. Hector Rodriguez will patrol center field in Friday's series opener.
