  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Dodgers' Blake Snell: Facing hitters Saturday

Snell (shoulder) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Saturday, Jack Harris of the California Post reports.

Saturday will mark Snell's first time facing live hitters this year as he works his way back from left shoulder fatigue. Although his live session will represent a significant step forward in his recovery, the 33-year-old will likely require a lengthy rehab assignment and isn't expected to make his season debut until late May.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Out of Friday's lineup

Diaz isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against Seattle.

Diaz will miss a second consecutive start Friday after starting each of Houston's previous five games, going 6-for-21 with four RBI and two runs scored in that span. Christian Vazquez will catch for Tatsuya Imai instead and bat ninth.

  • Carlos Correa SS | HOU

Astros' Carlos Correa: Returning to lineup

Correa (illness) will start at third base and bat sixth against the Mariners on Friday.

Correa missed the Astros' last two games while recovering from an illness. The 31-year-old had been trending upward prior to getting sick, going 7-for-26 (.269) with seven RBI and eight runs scored in his last seven games.

  • Corbin Carroll RF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Expected back Saturday

Carroll (hip) will be available off the bench during Friday's game against the Phillies and is expected to return to the starting lineup Saturday, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Friday will mark the second consecutive absence for Carroll since he tweaked his hip Wednesday, but it doesn't seem like his period of inactivity will extend much further. Jorge Barrosa has been starting in right field with Carroll sidelined and has three hits in Arizona's last four games, but the latter's .333/.408/.690 slash line through 49 plate appearances is hard to replace.

  • Ben Kudrna SP | KC

Royals' Ben Kudrna: Moved to Triple-A IL

Triple-A Omaha placed Kudrna on its 7-day injured list Tuesday due to right elbow discomfort, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Kudrna suffered the elbow injury during his 2026 debut this past Sunday, when he yielded two runs on two hits and four walks while striking out two across two innings. He'll get a second opinion on his injury before the Royals provide an updated timeline for his return to the mound.

  • Shota Imanaga SP | CHC

Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Brilliant outing goes to waste

Imanaga came away with a no-decision Friday as the Cubs fell 2-0 to the Pirates, striking out nine and walking one over six scoreless, no-hit innings.

The southpaw was dominant, firing 68 strikes on 100 pitches while generating 30 called or swinging strikes, but Chicago's offense couldn't push any runs across against Carmen Mlodzinski. Once Imanaga left the mound, Pittsburgh immediately struck for two runs in the top of the seventh. Imanaga will take a 2.81 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB through 16 innings into his next outing, which is set to come on the road next week in Philadelphia.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

    Rangers' Joc Pederson: Idle Friday

Pederson isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers.

Pederson lost his three-game hitting streak with an 0-for-2 effort Wednesday, and he'll now receive a day off to begin Texas' three-game set in Los Angeles. Andrew McCutchen will fill in as the designated hitter and bat fifth.

  • Josh Jung 3B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Jung: Back in starting nine

Jung (undisclosed) will start at third base and bat ninth Friday against the Dodgers.

The Rangers kept Jung on the bench for their last two games to give him time to recover after manager Skip Schumaker said the 28-year-old had been "a little banged up." Now seemingly healthy, Jung will look to stay hot after going 6-for-15 at the plate across his last five games.

  • Bryan Reynolds LF | PIT

Pirates' Bryan Reynolds: Supplies only offense in win

Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 2-0 win over the Cubs.

The Pirates were no-hit by Shota Imanaga through six innings, but their bats woke up as soon as the southpaw left the mound. Ryan O'Hearn led off the seventh with a single before Reynolds jumped on a first-pitch curveball from Caleb Thielbar and launched it into the left-field bleachers. It was Reynolds' third homer of the season in 13 games to go along with a .245/.345/.449 slash line, seven RBI and 11 runs.

  • Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL

Orioles' Tyler O'Neill: Scratched due to illness

O'Neill (illness) was scratched from Friday's starting lineup against the Giants, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

O'Neill was originally slated to bat sixth and handle right field, but Leody Taveras is now in the lineup, hitting seventh and playing center field while Dylan Beavers slides over to right field, batting sixth. O'Neill is slashing .241/.353/.345 with one home run, four RBI, six runs scored and a 3:6 BB:K across 34 trips to the plate this season.
