Padres manager Craig Stammen said that Musgrove (elbow) threw approximately 30-to-40 pitches in a two-inning simulated bullpen session Friday at the organization's complex in Arizona, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Stammen said Musgrove came out of the session feeling healthy, but the veteran right-hander still has several checkpoints to hit in the rehab process before getting cleared to make his 2026 debut. Musgrove missed the entire 2025 season while recovering from the Tommy John surgery that he underwent the previous October, then dealt with cartilage issues this spring that have continued to keep him on the shelf throughout the campaign. After months of limited progress, Musgrove seems to have turned a corner in his recovery, but he'll likely need at least another month to finish out his throwing progression and complete an extended rehab assignment before making his return from the 60-day injured list.

Padres manager Craig Stammen said that Pivetta (forearm) felt good after completing an up-and-down bullpen session Friday at the Padres' facility in Arizona, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan San Diego reports.

According to Stammen, Pivetta threw approximately 15-to-20 pitches before taking a break, then threw another 15-to-20 pitches to finish out the workout. The right-hander has been throwing off a mound for a few weeks now and is seemingly in the process of building up the volume and intensity of those bullpen sessions before he advances to facing live hitters. Pivetta has been stuck on the injured list since April 14 due to a right forearm flexor strain, and he'll have some financial incentive to try and make his way back on the Padres' active roster by Aug. 22. If Pivetta doesn't return by that date, it would trigger a clause in his contract that would void the final two years and $32 million left on his deal since he would have spent 130 consecutive days on the IL, per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The Yankees optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Called up ahead of the second game of Sunday's doubleheader with the Dodgers to serve as the Yankees' 27th man in the twin bill, Rodriguez wound up going unused in New York's 2-1 win in the nightcap. The 22-year-old righty will slot back into the rotation at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre during the upcoming week after compiling a 2.85 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 67:34 K:BB across 66.1 innings over his 13 starts at Triple-A prior to the All-Star break.

Langford went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Sunday's 8-5 loss to Atlanta.

Langford belted his 10th homer of the season, a solo shot in the ninth inning of Raisel Iglesias. The outfielder has hit safely in six of seven games since coming off the injured list, going 9-for-29 (.310) with two homers, five RBI and six runs during that stretch. Since June 5, when Langford returned from an earlier stay on the IL that cost him six weeks, he's posted a slash line of .315/.367/.613 with nine home runs, 21 RBI, three steals and 20 runs over 28 contests.

Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said Saturday that Jansen (forearm) is dealing with setbacks that put his return in doubt, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Jansen, who was placed on the 10-day injured list in early June, has twice attempted to resume a throwing program but lingering pain has put a pause on his rehab. With Jansen out of action, Texas is relying on a combination of Kyle Higashioka and Elias Diaz behind the plate.

Kwan batted leadoff and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Sunday's 7-1 loss to the Pirates. He was also caught stealing.

Kwan's third-inning single plated the Guardians' lone run. The single extended a hit streak to six games, during which Kwan is 11-for-21 (.524) with two doubles, three RBI, two steals and three runs scored. He'd batted ninth in the order in his previous 12 starts before Sunday's promotion. It's unclear if the recent stretch of hitting is what prompted manager Stephen Vogt to put Kwan back at leadoff, or if the manager preferred the veteran instead of rookie Travis Bazzana atop the order against Pittsburgh's ace, Paul Skenes.

Martinez (foot) started in right field and went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and an RBI in a rehab game for Triple-A Columbus on Sunday.

Martinez made the second appearance of his rehab appearance and played six innings in the outfield. The Guardians plan to gradually ramp Martinez up to playing a full nine-inning game during his rehab assignment, and he may also need to play on consecutive days before he's deemed ready to return from the 10-day injured list. Martinez has been on the shelf since June 16 due to a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.

Stewart went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Rockies.

Stewart extended Cincinnati's early lead to 8-1 with a three-run shot in the second inning. He didn't know it then, but the three-run knock was necessary for the Reds to hold onto the victory. It was the 20th homer of the season for the rookie, who leads the club in that category as well as RBI (70).

McLain (calf) will take batting practice on the field in Seattle on Monday, MLB.com reports.

McLain rejoined the Reds on their current road trip, which moved from Colorado this weekend to Seattle for a three-game set against the Mariners beginning Monday. He's been doing on-field work with teammates and can be activated at any point. By bringing McLain on the road with them, the Reds are signalling an imminent return. Possibly for this series in Seattle or the next in St. Louis.

Locklear started at first base and went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-7 extra-inning win over St. Louis.

Locklear made his first appearance for Arizona in 2026, after he was called up Friday as a replacement for the injured Tommy Troy (shoulder). First base is wide open for the Diamondbacks, who rank 27th in average (.219) and last in OPS (.590) at the position.
