  • Rockies' Michael Lorenzen: Surrenders four runs in loss

Lorenzen (2-9) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over 5.1 innings to take the loss versus the Pirates on Sunday.

Lorenzen pitched well against the Cubs over his last two starts, allowing a total of two runs over 10 innings, but he couldn't do the same against a different NL Central foe. He's now allowed at least four runs in eight of his 17 appearances (16 starts) this season, including two of four in June. For the season, the right-hander has a 7.11 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 65:26 K:BB through 17 innings. Lorenzen's next start is projected to come on the road in Minnesota.

  • Jake Mangum LF | PIT

Pirates' Jake Mangum: Three-hit effort Sunday

Mangum went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Rockies.

Mangum logged his fifth multi-hit effort over 17 games in June. He's batting .375 (21-for-56) this month, though his only extra-base hits are five doubles. The outfielder has taken over a strong-side platoon role in center field in the absence of Oneil Cruz (hand), but Mangum is also regularly hitting in the bottom third of the order, which limits his upside a bit. On the season, Mangum is batting .306 with a .722 OPS, one home run, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored, seven doubles and 13 stolen bases over 176 plate appearances.

  • Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Hits third homer

Gonzales went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Rockies.

Gonzales got the Pirates on the board when he took Michael Lorenzen deep in the fourth inning. This was Gonzales' second multi-hit effort in his last four games. The infielder is batting .293 on the year, adding a .716 OPS, three homers, 35 RBI, 40 runs scored, four stolen bases, 11 doubles and a triple over 72 contests. He continues to occupy a near-everyday role in the lineup, primarily at third base, as he trends toward a career year.

  • Bryan Reynolds LF | PIT

Pirates' Bryan Reynolds: Blasts three-run homer

Reynolds went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and two total runs scored in Sunday's 8-6 win over the Rockies.

Reynolds has hit safely in his last 12 games, going 19-for-47 (.404) with five homers and 12 RBI in that span. The outfielder's blast in the seventh inning gave the Pirates some necessary insurance, as the Rockies rallied over the last two frames but couldn't catch up. Reynolds is now hitting .287 with an .884 OPS, 11 homers, 51 RBI, 52 runs scored, five stolen bases, 18 doubles and two triples across 78 contests this season in a strong bounce-back campaign.

  • Jose Cabrera SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Jose Cabrera: Shows well in debut

Cabrera allowed three hits and a hit batsman while striking out three and walking none over five-plus scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Sunday.

Cabrera threw 42 of 62 pitches for strikes in his major-league debut. He has averaged just over five innings a start in the minors this season (61 innings over 12 outings), so he may need some time to stretch out if he's going to be part of Arizona's rotation for a while. The opportunity is there if he pitches well, as Ryne Nelson (elbow) and Michael Soroka (glute) are both on the injured list. Cabrera pitched well enough to get at least one more look, tentatively scheduled to be on the road versus the Rays.

  • Ryan Kreidler SS | MIN

Twins' Ryan Kreidler: Delivers three-hit effort

Kreidler went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Kreidler was in the lineup versus a right-hander for the second game in a row, at the expense of Tristan Gray. With three hits in each of his last two games, Kreidler may be gaining some momentum for a stretch in the lineup at shortstop. On the season, he's hitting .295 with a .920 OPS, four home runs, 18 RBI, 16 runs scored, three doubles and two triples over 89 plate appearances. He was also caught stealing Sunday -- he's 0-for-3 on the basepaths this year.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Dealing with hamstring injury

Canzone suffered a right hamstring injury during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Canzone exited the contest in the bottom of the sixth frame after hustling down the line on the groundout. The 28-year-old grabbed at his right leg after crossing first base, and it is now understood that he is dealing a hamstring injury. Canzone will travel with the team to Pittsburgh before Seattle will open a three-game series against the Pirates on Tuesday, and he is considered day-to-day for the time being.

  • Royce Lewis 3B | MIN

Twins' Royce Lewis: Posts steal Sunday

Lewis went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Lewis went 4-for-25 (.160) with a 3:9 BB:K during the Twins' six-game road trip. Two of those hits went for extra bases, but his consistency has faded a bit after a strong initial showing when he returned from a stint with Triple-A St. Paul. Lewis is batting .203 with a .662 OPS, five steals, seven home runs, 21 RBI and 19 runs scored over 180 plate appearances this season.

  • Anthony Banda RP | MIN

Twins' Anthony Banda: Posts second save

Banda struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

Yoendrys Gomez worked the eighth inning against the middle of Arizona's order. Banda then got the ninth, and he got Ketel Marte to fly out for the final out after the lineup turned over. Banda has allowed just one unearned run over seven innings in June, adding an 8:3 K:BB. He's at a 4.22 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB across 32 innings this season while adding two saves and nine holds. He should continue to be part of an unsettled high-leverage mix in Minnesota. Banda is one of 12 relievers to log a save for the Twins this season, including seven who have at least two saves.

  • Mike Paredes SP | MIN

Twins' Mike Paredes: Completes five frames

Paredes allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one over five innings in a no-decision versus the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Paredes put forth another serviceable effort, though the three walks matched his season high. This was the first time he's completed five innings this season, and he threw 47 of 75 pitches for strikes. Paredes is at a 4.05 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 11:9 K:BB through 20 innings over five appearances in his first stint in the majors. He is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Rockies, and he's pretty close to being fully stretched out as a starter.
