Sanchez will not make a start during this weekend's series with the Mets, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Philadelphia will start Aaron Nola on Thursday followed by Jesus Luzardo and Alan Rangel on Saturday and Sunday. By pushing Sanchez and Zack Wheeler back in the rotation, it will allow the duo to start the first two games of next week's three-game set with the Dodgers. Firmly in the mix for the NL Cy Young award, Sanchez pitched to an 11-4 record, 2.62 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 144:25 K:BB during the first half of the season. He also started the All-Star Game for the National League but was roughed up for three runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts in his lone inning.

The Diamondbacks placed Troy (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a sprained right AC joint.

The move is retroactive to July 12 after Troy suffered the injury in Arizona's 9-2 win over the Dodgers the previous day. The rookie outfielder has slashed .223/.299/.364 with four homers, nine RBI, 22 runs scored, one stolen base and a 13:31 BB:K across 134 plate appearances since making his big-league debut May 24.

The Astros acquired Fielder from the Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for Lance McCullers (shoulder), Colton Gordon and cash considerations.

It was a salary dump for the Astros, who were getting out from the remainder of McCullers' five-year, $85 million deal. Jadyn is the son of Prince Fielder and has spent the 2026 season with Single-A Wilson, where he's slashed .233/.415/.398 with three homers, 23 RBI, 34 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and a 33:43 BB:K across 176 trips to the plate. The Astros announced Fielder as an outfielder, though he's also played second base in the minors and has spent a lot of time serving as a DH.

The Brewers acquired Gordon, Lance McCullers (shoulder) and cash considerations from the Astros on Wednesday in exchange for Jadyn Fielder.

Gordon has spent most of the 2026 season with Triple-A Sugar Land and has pitched in 24 games (15 starts) for the Astros over the last two seasons. He has a career 5.95 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 83:22 K:BB across 95.1 innings.

The Brewers acquired McCullers (shoulder), Colton Gordon and cash considerations from the Astros on Wednesday in exchange for Jadyn Fielder.

It's a salary dump for Houston, who is getting out from most of the remainder of the final year of McCullers' five-year, $85 million deal. McCullers hasn't pitched with Houston since May 15 due to a shoulder impingement, but the right-hander is winding down a rehab assignment and should join Milwaukee's staff sooner than later. It's another reclamation project for the Brewers, as McCullers has pitched to a 6.65 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 5.8 BB/9 across 94.2 innings since the start of the 2025 season after missing the entire 2023 and 2024 campaigns due to injuries.

The Red Sox signed Kahnle to a minor-league contract Monday.

Kahnle was DFA'd by Boston earlier this month and elected free agency July 6. After testing the market, Kahnle has returned to the Red Sox on a minor-league pact and will join Triple-A Worcester. The 36-year-old pitched in eight games out of the bullpen for Boston last month and allowed eight runs on 12 hits and six walks with five strikeouts across nine innings.

The Nationals will recall Ford from Triple-A Rochester ahead of Friday's series opener with the Athletics, Kyle Williams of TheBanner.com reports.

After the Nationals placed Drew Millas on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a fractured left index finger, the team will need another catcher to complement Keibert Ruiz. Ford was acquired from the Mariners last winter and has slashed .223/.370/.335 with four homers, 22 RBI, 34 runs scored and a 45:65 BB:K across 257 plate appearances at Rochester. The 23-year-old was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Camerino (hand) said he plans to be in the lineup for both games of Friday's doubleheader against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 23-year-old had X-rays come back negative after being hit by a pitch on the left hand during Tuesday's All-Star Game, and he doesn't expect to need any time off to begin the second half of the season. Caminero entered the break on a bit of a skid at the plate with a .143 average (4-for-28) and 32.4 percent strikeout rate in his last eight games, though all four of his hits in that span went for extra bases.

Murphy will start Saturday's game against the Rangers, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Murphy was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett last weekend and worked three shutout innings out of the bullpen without allowing a hit Saturday against the Cardinals. He's worked exclusively as a starter in the minors this season, making 16 combined starts between Double-A and Triple-A. The 22-year-old right-hander has a 3.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB across 60.1 innings with Gwinnett. Atlanta has 17 games in 17 days beginning Friday, and it's unclear if Murphy will make more starts after this weekend. Both Martin Perez (forearm) and AJ Smith-Shawver (elbow) are candidates to rejoin the rotation during that span.

The Nationals activated Kranick (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Kranick will be looking to make his season debut for Washington coming out of the All-Star break. He's coming back from flexor tendon surgery that sidelined him in June of 2025. The right-hander appeared in 24 games out of the bullpen for the Mets last season, posting a 3.65 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB across 37 innings.
