  Butler logged 31 points (11-17 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 8-9 FT), three rebounds, three assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Thursday's 99-98 loss to Phoenix. This was a nice bounce-back game from Butler, who was coming off a 3-for-11 shooting performance, and his only three-point make was a big one that tied the game with 35 seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately, a ticky-tack foul committed by Moses Moody allowed the Suns to get to the charity stripe with 0.4 seconds left in regulation, and that was all she wrote for Golden State. The Warriors have now lost three straight and are 4-9 over their past 15 games.

Despite the poor shooting, Butler scored at least 15 points for a third straight game thanks to his volume at the charity stripe. The veteran forward is averaging 16.7 points, 7.7 boards, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals since returning from a two-game absence due to a sore knee despite shooting just 43.8 percent from the floor.

  Butler posted 15 points (6-11 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one steal across 37 minutes during Friday's 127-120 loss to Minnesota. The veteran forward has been managing a nagging knee issue since the beginning of December, but he handled a full workload Friday and made a solid contribution in the box score. Butler had been on a roll prior to his knee acting up Dec. 2 against the Thunder, and he'd been averaging 21.1 points, 6.0 boards, 5.6 assists and 2.0 steals over 32.2 minutes in the 11 appearances before that early exit. If his knee cooperates, Butler should return to that level of production soon enough.

  Butler (knee) posted 19 points (5-10 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 7-10 FT), eight rebounds, six assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Sunday's 123-91 win over the Bulls. With the Warriors up big for most of the game, Butler took on more of a facilitator role in the offense. He finished with a plus/minus rating of plus-29 and helped Golden State earn its second straight victory. Butler had missed Golden State's last two games due to left knee injury management, but he looks as though he'll be ready to handle his normal minutes moving forward. He could, however, see his opportunities as a creator take a hit if the Warriors get Stephen Curry (quadriceps) back for their next game Friday versus Minnesota.

  Butler (knee) is available for Sunday's game against the Bulls, Will Gottlieb of AllCHGO.com reports. Butler missed the last two games due to a left knee injury, but he will return to action Sunday. Over his last five completed games, he is averaging 23.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.6 steals in 34.2 minutes per contest.
