Green announced Thursday that he is retiring, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. Green will retire after a 15-year career that included stints with the Spurs, 76ers, Raptors, Lakers, Cavaliers and Grizzlies. He is a three-time NBA champion and made the 2016-17 All-Defensive Second Team. Green's most memorable achievement was drilling a then-record 27 threes during the 2012-13 NBA Finals in the Spurs' win over the Heat.

Green will be waived by the 76ers on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The 76ers acquired several frontcourt players when trading James Harden to the Clippers on Tuesday, and Green will be let go to create room on the roster. The 36-year-old had a minimal role for Philadelphia early in the season, averaging just 9.0 minutes per game over two appearances.

Green agreed to a one-year deal with the 76ers on Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Green will begin his second stint with the 76ers after playing in 131 regular-season games with the club between the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns before tearing the ACL and LCL in his left knee in Game 6 of Philadelphia's Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup with the Heat in May 2022. The 36-year-old was medically cleared last February but made just 11 appearances between the Grizzlies and Cavaliers, averaging 5.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in 12.6 minutes across 11 appearances. Though he's a career 40 percent shooter from three-point range and still offers good size on defense, Green won't enter the upcoming season as a lock to be included in head coach Nick Nurse's rotation.

Green totaled 21 points (8-14 FG, 5-9 3Pt), three rebounds, three assists, one block and three steals in 26 minutes during Thursday's 118-94 victory over the Magic. Green led all Cavaliers players in scoring, shots made and triples off the bench en route to a 21-point showing in Thursday's blowout victory. Green set a new season-high scoring mark in the game, with his previous season-high point total occurring March 4 against Detroit when he tallied six points.
