Connaughton will start Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies. Connaughton is a primary beneficiary of Damian Lillard (groin), Patrick Beverley (ankle) and Khris Middleton (ankle) all sitting out Wednesday. Connaughton will make his third start of the campaign and has averaged 10.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game with the first unit in 2023-24.

Connaughton chipped in 15 points (4-11 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one block across 29 minutes during Tuesday's 117-113 loss to Washington. Tuesday's contest marked the first time since March 8 that Connaughton scored 15 points or more in a game. He saw extended playing time due to Damian Lillard's (personal) absence and Patrick Beverley exiting in the third quarter after spraining his right ankle. If Lillard and Beverley are unable to suit up for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies, expect Connaughton and AJ Green to see extended playing time.

Connaughton notched 17 points (6-7 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes during Friday's 123-122 loss to the Lakers. Connaughton was the leading bench scorer for Milwaukee, finishing with his highest point total of the campaign. Not coincidentally, this was the first time he played 30-plus minutes since Feb. 8. Connaughton averaged just 4.7 points on 40.0 percent shooting over his previous three contests, so fantasy managers need not rush to pluck him off the waiver wire despite his hot shooting Friday.

Connaughton will come off the bench, with Patrick Beverley entering the starting lineup Monday, while Giannis Antetokounmpo is sidelined due to Achilles tendonitis. Connaughton's size could be needed against a forward-heavy Clippers roster. However, Beverley brings familiarity and competitive juice against his former team.
