Caldwell-Pope is out for Thursday's game versus the Lakers due to personal reasons. Caldwell-Pope will miss his first game of the season Thursday due to personal reasons. Caldwell-Pope posted two points (1-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 30 minutes during Wednesday's 104-93 loss to the Clippers. Caldwell-Pope continued to have trouble finding the bottom of the basket in the loss, and it's a very troubling trend for the veteran. He's shooting a measly 33.9 percent from the floor and an even worse 22.9 percent from deep over 16 games, falling well short of previous seasonal averages. The change of scenery for the veteran has yielded few advantages to begin the season, and he'll need a turnaround to keep a role with the first unit.

Caldwell-Pope supplied six points (2-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and three assists across 25 minutes during Tuesday's 114-89 victory over Charlotte. Caldwell-Pope hasn't been able to step up with Paolo Banchero (oblique) sidelined, and the veteran guard has struggled massively with his shot from three-point range. His offensive contributions are minimal when he's not knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Through 12 games this season, Caldwell-Pope is averaging just 6.8 points per game while shooting a woeful 20.8 percent from deep.

Caldwell-Pope contributed six points (1-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals over 31 minutes during Monday's 102-86 loss to Oklahoma City. Caldwell-Pope continues to be a non-factor on the offensive end, although once again chipped in decent defensive contributions. The Magic signed Caldwell-Pope during the offseason to bolster their perimeter scoring while adding to their already strong defensive presence. To this point, he has somewhat lived up to expectations on the defensive end. As for the offensive end, they would love for him to show a little more aggression.
