Kuminga remains with the second unit after struggling as a starter for the first three games of the season. While he's made up for the early shortcomings with admirable totals from the bench, coach Steve Kerr appears to prefer Kuminga's current spot in the rotation. Andrew Wiggins has exceeded early expectations, which is one reason for Kuminga's demotion.

Kuminga has come off the bench over the Warriors' last six regular-season games, and over that span he has averaged 17.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

It seems the Warriors are content with continuing to utilize the 22-year-old off the bench for the time being, especially after securing a victory Wednesday night against the defending champions. Kuminga has held down a reserve role in Golden State's last five games.

  Kuminga has been moved to the bench for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans, Kendra Andrews of ESPN.com reports. Kuminga has been relegated to the second unit after a disappointing start to the season in terms of efficiency (33.3 percent from the field, 58.3 percent from the free-throw line, 11.1 percent from three). Moses Moody appears to be starting in place of Kuminga.
