Collins agreed to a three-year, $51 million contract with the Pistons on Wednesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports. With Tobias Harris expected to leave this offseason, the Pistons found a new starting power forward in Collins, who's coming off a down year but has been steady throughout his career. Across nine seasons and three different teams, Collins has averaged 16.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.7 steals while posting 55/37/79 shooting splits.

Collins won't start Wednesday's Play-In Tournament game against the Warriors, Anthony Slater of ESPN.com reports. With Kawhi Leonard (ankle) back in the lineup, Collins will slide to the second unit. Over 13 appearances off the bench during the regular season, he averaged 12.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 23.5 minutes per contest.

Collins racked up 18 points (8-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and nine rebounds over 21 minutes during Sunday's 115-110 victory over Golden State. Ideally, a balanced set of totals from Collins and Brook Lopez would be the best recipe for the Clippers' frontcourt, but the team insists on keeping Derrick Jones and his oft-inconsistent production in the first unit. Collins showed his potential impact by pouring in 18 points in only 21 minutes. The team is likely to revert to the original scheme in the rematch Tuesday night, but Jones went scoreless in 21 minutes against Golden State. A lineup switch could be in store.

Collins will return to the starting lineup Sunday after playing only 13 minutes off the bench during Friday's loss in Portland. As a starter this season (55 games), Collins has averaged 13.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.7 stocks in 28.0 minutes.

Collins is not in the Clippers' starting lineup against the Trail Blazers on Friday, NBA writer Justin Russo reports. Collins started in Wednesday's 128-110 loss to the Thunder, when he played 27 minutes and finished with 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. He'll revert to a bench role for Friday's contest due to the return of Darius Garland (toe).
