• Magic's Sindarius Thornwell: Sticks in rotation Sunday

  Thornwell put up three points (1-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt) to go with three assists, one rebound and one assist across 17 minutes Sunday in the Magic's 128-96 loss to the Timberwolves. Thornwell was making his third appearance with Orlando since signing a two-way contract May 4. With the banged-up Magic down several rotation players in each of those contests, Thornwell has been pressed into a rotation role out of necessity. He played a combined 57 minutes in those contests, totaling five points (on 2-for-12 shooting from the field), five assists, five steals and three rebounds over that stretch. Thornwell doesn't look like he'll be much of a fantasy option during the last week of the season, even with Orlando likely to still be without multiple key players in their final four games.

  The Pelicans elected not to re-sign Thornwell after his second 10-day contract expired over the weekend, Andrew Lopez of ESPN.com reports. Had New Orleans elected to retain Thornwell, he would have had to sign a rest-of-season deal, but the team deciding keeping an extra roster spot open was a greater priority in advance of Thursday's trade deadline. If the Pelicans still have a roster opening in the aftermath of the deadline, team could revisit bringing Thornwell back. The fourth-year wing has appeared in 14 games with New Orleans this season, averaging 1.2 points in 5.2 minutes per contest.

• Pelicans' Sindarius Thornwell: Re-signs with New Orleans

  Thornwell re-signed with the Pelicans on a 10-day contract Wednesday. It's the 26-year-old's second consecutive 10-day pact with New Orleans after being cut by the team Feb. 22. Thornwell is averaging 4.8 minutes across 11 appearances this season.

  Thornwell signed a 10-day contract with the Pelicans on Wednesday, Andrew Lopez of ESPN reports. In a salary-cap-related move, the Pelicans waived Thornwell earlier in the week, and they'll now bring him back on a 10-day deal. The former South Carolina standout was not a part of the regular rotation, appearing in just 11 games and logging 53 total minutes.

  Thornwell played two minutes off the bench during Tuesday's win over Houston. Thornwell missed his only shot attempt of the night, a three-pointer in junk time during Tuesday's blowout victory. The former South Carolina standout hasn't scored since dropping a season-high five points versus the Rockets on Jan. 30.
