Thompson (illness/conditioning) made his season debut in Monday's 102-100 win over the Raptors, finishing with five points (2-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), four assists and three rebounds in 16 minutes. The second-year forward made his 2024-25 debut Monday after missing the Pistons' first 18 games of the season while awaiting medical clearance from a blood clot issue that first cropped up last March and then getting himself back into playing shape. The Pistons may have deliberately eased Thompson back in with a light workload Monday, and he also exited for a brief period of time after being kicked in the knee. Thompson could see his playing time pick up a bit in the games to come, but now that he's part of a Detroit roster that looks to be much improved from last season's 14-win outfit, a consistent 25-to-30-minute role won't necessarily be in the cards.

Thompson (illness) is available to make his season debut in Saturday's game against the Magic. Thompson will finally make his season debut Saturday, and his return to the rotation should boost the Pistons' second-unit depth enormously. He averaged 8.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game as a rookie, and he should see minutes right away for a rebuilding Pistons team that can certainly use his versatility on both ends of the court.

Thompson (illness) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Magic. Thompson has been upgraded to questionable, which is a step in the right direction as the second-year forward regains his conditioning. The 21-year-old has yet to make his season debut, though he is seemingly nearing a return to game action.

Detroit recalled Thompson (conditioning) from the G League's Motor City Cruise on Tuesday. Thompson joined the Cruise on Tuesday to get in some practice work, and he's now back with the Pistons ahead of Thursday's game against the Hornets. The second-year forward has been cleared to play by the NBA's Fitness-To-Play panel, but it's unclear when he'll be ready to make his season debut. Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff said Wednesday that the team doesn't want to play Thompson in a game until he's completely comfortable. The second-year wing hasn't been playing 5-on-5 and has been limited in his workouts since March, per Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press.

The Pistons assigned Thompson (conditioning) to the G League's Motor City Cruise on Tuesday. Thompson has yet to make his season debut after being sidelined due to a blood clot issue, but after recently gaining clearance from the NBA's Fitness-To-Play panel, the second-year forward is beginning to ramp back up. He'll likely participate in practice with Motor City on Tuesday before rejoining the NBA club ahead of Thursday's game at Charlotte.
