Wilson (coach's decision) is inactive but operating as the Giants' emergency third quarterback in Monday night's matchup with the Patriots, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports. Wilson will be inactive for the first time this season as Jaxson Dart returns from a two-game absence following a concussion, reclaiming the starting role while Jameis Winston serves as his top backup. Wilson will only be able to enter the contest if both Dart and Winston are removed from the game.

Giants interim coach Mike Kafka said Wednesday that Wilson is "going to be the backup" behind Jameis Winston during Sunday's matchup against the Packers, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports. Wilson has been overtaken by Winston as the No. 2 quarterback in New York, but he'll get a chance to handle backup duties versus Green Bay in Week 11 with Jaxson Dart (concussion) expected to sit out the contest. Kafka said Wilson remains "a crucial part of our offense," but once Dart has returned to full health, the veteran signal-caller will likely be relegated to emergency No. 3 quarterback duties.

If Jaxson Dart (concussion) is out in Week 11, then Wilson will likely start against Green Bay. We would love it if Jameis Winston (1 percent rostered) got the chance to start, and he has more upside than Wilson. Interim coach Mike Kafka will make the call after Brian Daboll was fired Monday, so keep an eye on what develops. Wilson or Winston will only be worth using in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues for 5-10 percent of your remaining FAB.

Wilson completed three of seven passes for 45 yards and rushed twice for 12 yards after replacing Jaxson Dart (concussion) in the second half of Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Bears. Wilson entered the game after Dart departed at the end of the third quarter. The Giants got a field goal on Wilson's first drive in the game to take a 20-10 lead, but the Bears responded with a pair of unanswered touchdowns to drop the Giants to 2-8. Wilson would presumably start in Week 11 against the Packers if Dart doesn't clear concussion protocol in time, though the Giants also have Jameis Winston on the roster.

Giants coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Wilson will operate as the backup to Jaxson Dart for the rest of the season, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports. Wilson heads to the bench after three starts, and the team isn't leaving the door open for any further changes under center with Dart now in the No. 1 position. Daboll said Wilson as a "pro" about his being benched. While New York hasn't mentioned the possibility of any future trade, Wilson's presence is somewhat redundant for the team due to the presence of Jameis Winston in the No. 3 role. After an awful start to the year though, aside from his huge Week 2 production versus the Cowboys, it's unclear whether even quarterback-needy teams around the league will express much interest in Wilson's availability.
