  • Kwon Alexander: Sticking around in Detroit
    By RotoWire

The Lions signed Alexander to the practice squad Saturday. Alexander was waived by the Lions on Thursday after being a healthy scratch in Detroit's Week 16 win over Chicago. He'll remain with the Lions on the practice squad and will be eligible to be elevated to the active roster. Alexander has played in five regular-season games between the Broncos and Lions and has accumulated 12 tackles (four solo), one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

  • Kwon Alexander: Waived by Detroit
    By RotoWire

The Lions waived Alexander on Thursday, Kory Woods of MLive.com reports. Detroit signed Alexander off Denver's practice squad in late November, and the veteran linebacker logged 28 total defensive snaps over two games with the club. However, he was a healthy scratch last Sunday against Chicago, and his services have become less needed with Trevor Nowaske recently returning from a one-game absence and with both Jalen Reeves-Maybin (neck) and Alex Anzalone (forearm) potentially nearing returns. Woods notes that the Lions hope to add Alexander to their practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Alexander (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Chicago. Alexander played 28 defensive snaps across the Lions' last two games and logged four tackles (one solo) over that span. However, he will observe Sunday's game from the sidelines due to Trevor Nowaske (concussion) returning from a one-game absence. Alexander's next opportunity to play will be Week 17 against the 49ers on Monday, Dec. 30.

  • Lions' Kwon Alexander: Joining Lions
    By RotoWire

Detroit is signing Alexander from Denver's practice squad, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Alexander recorded 145 tackles in 2016 (his second NFL season) and made the Pro Bowl a year later, but he's had a reduced role over the past two campaigns. The veteran linebacker started twice in nine regular-season contests with Pittsburgh in 2023 and recorded 32 tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and an interception, and he's bounced between the Broncos' practice squad and active roster this year, tallying eight tackles over three games. Alexander could have an opportunity to see substantial playing time with the Lions, as the team's defense has been decimated by injuries, including to linebacker Malcolm Rodriguez, who is done for the campaign after tearing his ACL on Thanksgiving Day.

  • Alexander sustained a season-ending Achilles injury in Sunday's 23-19 win over the Packers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The Steelers lost Cole Holcomb (knee) for the season in Week 9 and will now be without Alexander after the latter tore his Achilles in the first quarter of Sunday's game. Given the timing of the injury, it's likely that Alexander will miss the beginning of the 2024 season. He finishes his 2023 season with 41 tackles (32 solo), including one sack, one interception and a forced fumble in eight games.
