  • Steelers' Damontae Kazee: Suspension lifted
    By RotoWire

The Steelers activated Kazee from the reserve-suspended list Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Kazee was suspended for three games after an illegal hit to the head of Michael Pittman in Week 15 against the Colts. Because the Steelers qualified for the postseason, Kazee will be able to suit up for the team's playoff game against the Bills on Sunday. The 2017 fifth-round pick accumulated 61 tackles (46 solo), three passes defended, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries over 14 games in the regular season.

    By RotoWire

Kazee will be out for the remainder of the regular season after the NFL upheld his three-game suspension Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Kazee was handed the three-game ban after he flagged and ejected for an illegal hit to the head of Colts wideout Michael Pittman in this past Saturday's 30-13 loss to Indianapolis. Pittman left the game and was later placed in concussion protocol, and since Kazee had previously been fined five times this season for unnecessary roughness penalties, the league factored the safety's history of unsportsmanlike play into the decision to suspend him. Kazee will be eligible to return to action in the postseason, should the Steelers qualify.

  • Kazee recorded five tackles (four solo) while intercepting a pass and deflecting another in Sunday's 23-19 win against Green Bay. Kazee was able to seal the game in the fourth quarter, picking off Packers quarterback Jordan Love as time expired. The safety has been filling in for Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) the last three games, compiling 14 tackles, two interceptions and two pass deflections during that stretch.

  • Kazee (ankle) practiced in full Sunday, Chris Adamski of TribLive.com reports. Kazee was sporting a walking boot at the end of July after suffering a sprained ankle in practice. Now fully recovered, the team's starter at strong safety should be able to turn his focus to being ready for the season opener against the 49ers.

  • Steelers' Damontae Kazee: In walking boot
    By RotoWire

Kazee (ankle) said Sunday that the boot on his left foot is a precautionary measure to make sure he's healthy for Week 1, Brian Batko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Kazee also noted that the injury itself is a "slightly sprained" left ankle that he twisted a bit during Saturday's practice. Once back to full health, he'll compete with Keanu Neal for the starting strong safety role beside free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
