  Igwebuike (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Texans, Alan Saunders of PittsburghSportsNow.com reports. Igwebuike joined the Steelers on Sept. 20 after Anthony McFarland (knee) was placed on injured reserve. However, the Northwestern product still has not suited up for the team. Instead, Pittsburgh will continue to lean on Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren as its only two active running backs.

  The Steelers signed Igwebuike off the Falcons' practice squad Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Igwebuike will bring added depth to the Pittsburgh backfield after Anthony McFarland (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday. The 28-year-old likely won't have a regular role on offense but could challenge Gunner Olszewski (concussion) for the top kickoff return job.

  Igwebuike reverted to the Falcons' practice squad Monday. Igwebuike was elevated from the practice squad prior to Atlanta's 25-24 win over the Packers on Sunday, joining the team's active roster for a second straight week. He logged one offensive snap and failed to garner any stats for the second game in a row. Igwebuike will now have to wait for another potential elevation down the road.

  Igwebuike was elevated to the Falcons' active roster Saturday, Scott Bair of the team's official site reports. Igwebuike has now been called up in consecutive games to start the season. He will be available to provide depth at running back, if needed, but his primary role will be returning kicks. He logged one offensive snap in Week 1 to go along with eight on special teams.

  Igwebuike was waived by the Falcons on Monday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports. Igwebuike was signed from the practice squad for the team's season opener against the Panthers and played eight snaps on special teams. His departure could be a sign that Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) is expected to be available Sunday against the Packers. Igwebuike, however, could still ultimately re-sign with the team's practice squad or pursue opportunities elsewhere.
