Board (concussion) practiced Monday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Board exited Baltimore's preseason opener against the Eagles due to a concussion and was unable to return for the team's second exhibition game Saturday versus Atlanta. However, his return to practice suggests he's cleared protocol. Board is slated to serve as a backup linebacker and special-teams stalwart during the 2024 campaign.

Board will not return to Friday's preseason game against the Eagles after being tested for a concussion. It remains unclear whether Board actually sustained a concussion or if Baltimore is just exercising caution during an exhibition game. The journeyman is competing for a depth linebacker role in Baltimore.

Board was released by the Patriots on Thursday. Board joined New England on a two-year contract last offseason, but he'll now make his exit from the team a year early. The 28-year-old was strictly a special-teams contributor last season, recording 10 combined tackles in 17 games.

Board signed a one-year contract with the Lions on Monday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Board appeared in 16 games in three of the last four seasons with Baltimore, and he also logged a 15-contest slate back in 2019. The special-teams ace, who has also proven capable of contributing on defense in a situational capacity, now brings his talents to Detroit.
