Brown and the Browns agreed on a one-year contact Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Brown will head to Cleveland after spending the last two seasons with the Colts, most recently recording 10 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a pass deflection over 12 contests in 2023. The cornerback will likely operate in a special-teams role with the Browns in 2024.

The Colts waived Brown on Monday. Brown was suspended by Indianapolis on Dec. 19 for conduct detrimental to the team. His suspension took place over the final three games of the regular season before he was waived by the team Monday. Brown played in 12 contests during the campaign, logging 56 snaps on defense and 251 on special teams. He finished with 10 tackles (eight solo), an interception and a forced fumble.

Brown has exited Sunday's game against the Panthers and is being evaluated for a head injury, James Boyd of The Athletic reports. Brown's ability to return will likely be based on whether he suffered a concussion. If he did, he would have to enter the league's five-step protocols, but he should be able to return if he didn't.

Brown (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest versus the Patriots, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports. Brown will be forced to miss Week 9 after he sustained a hamstring injury in the Colts' Week 8 loss to the Commanders. In his absence, Isaiah Rodgers and Brandon Facyson could see a slight uptick in usage within the secondary.

Brown was signed to the Colts' active roster Tuesday. Brown was elevated to the active roster ahead of last Sunday's season opener against Houston, but he ultimately failed to play any defensive snaps. The 27-year-old cornerback has accounted for 50 tackles (39 solo), three tackles for loss, six passes defensed and two forced fumbles across 34 games played.
