  • Rashaan Evans: Cut from practice squad
    By RotoWire

Evans was released from the Eagles' practice squad Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Evans requested his release, as there are apparently several other opportunities that he is considering. The 2018 first-round pick accumulated 159 tackles across 17 games for the Falcons last season, but he was surprisingly absent from training camps across the league in August.

  • Evans recorded six tackles (two solo) during Saturday's 17-9 loss to Baltimore. Evans tied his season low with six stops and snapped a six-game double-digit tackle streak. Despite finishing second on the team in tackles behind Richie Grant, Evans' performance Saturday was certainly disappointing given his recent string of success. In his first season with Atlanta, Evans has totaled a career-high 151 tackles, so he'll look to get back on track in Week 17 against the Cardinals.

  • Evans totaled nine tackles (four solo) and one sack during Sunday's 37-34 overtime win over the Panthers. Evans was busy again in Week 8, recording at least nine tackles for the fifth time over his last six appearances. However, his first sack of the season -- an eight-yard loss on a 3rd-and-9 play in the fourth quarter -- made Sunday's outing Evans' best fantasy performance of the campaign. Across his first eight appearances with Atlanta, Evans has totaled 74 tackles, three pass defenses, two fumble recoveries and one sack. He'll look to maintain his strong play against the Chargers in Week 9.

  • Evans recorded 12 tackles (seven solo), one forced fumble and one pass defensed during Sunday's 28-14 win over the 49ers. Evans was responsible for a scoop-and-score late in the first quarter of Sunday's win over the 49ers, while he also tied with Troy Andersen for a team-leading 12 tackles in Week 6. The fifth-year pro is slated to operate in his usual role as one of the team's starting linebackers next Sunday versus the Bengals.

  • Evans had six tackles (one solo), an interception and a pass defended during Sunday's 20-0 win over the Jaguars. Evans played 59 percent of the team's defensive snaps in his first start after a five-game absence due to an ankle injury. In eight games played this season, the middle linebacker has 43 tackles (25 solo), two interceptions and two passes defended.
