  Jones underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn right Achilles that he suffered in Week 14 against the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The recovery timeline for Jones is 6-to-8 months, which puts him in a position to be fully cleared for the start of training camp in July of 2026. Jones will hit free agency in the offseason, but Schefter relays that the Colts are expected to try and re-sign the 28-year-old quarterback. Jones ended his 2025 regular season completing 68.0 percent of his passes for 3,101 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions while turning 45 carries into 164 yards and five scores across 13 games.

  The Colts placed Jones (Achilles) on injured reserve Tuesday, JJ Stankevitz of the team's official site reports. Jones' move to IR was merely a formality after he suffered a season-ending right Achilles tendon rupture Sunday. Head coach Shane Steichen said Monday that Jones is scheduled to undergo surgery "within the week," and given the timing of the injury, the signal-caller will be hard pressed to return to full health in advance of Week 1 of the 2026 campaign. The former Giant had been in the midst of the most efficient season of his career while leading the Colts to a 8-5 record, completing 68.0 percent of his passes for 8.1 yards per attempt and a 19:8 TD:INT while adding 164 yards and five scores on the ground. The 28-year-old appeared to have put himself in position for a lucrative long-term deal with the Colts or another club in free agency this spring, but the Achilles injury could result in him having to settle for a smaller contract.

  Jones is feared to have suffered a torn right Achilles that will require surgery, but confirmation will come Monday, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports. Jones suffered a non-contact lower-leg injury in the first quarter of Sunday's 36-19 loss to Jacksonville, and he is now likely slated to miss the remainder of the season as a result. The quarterback was in the midst of a resurgent campaign with Indianapolis, but it unfortunately appears headed toward a premature end. Riley Leonard replaced Jones at quarterback in Week 14, but Anthony Richardson (orbital) could be in the picture as well to start for the Colts when/if he's able to return to action.

  Following Sunday's 36-19 loss to the Jaguars, coach Shane Steichen acknowledged that Jones right Achilles injury "could be season-ending," James Boyd of The Athletic reports. With that in mind, Steichen noted that the Colts can't confirm anything just yet, but acknowledged that it's "not looking good" for Jones, who sustained a non-contact Achilles' injury Sunday. For now, Riley Leonard is the only healthy QB on the team's active roster as next weekend's game against the Seahawks approaches.

  Jones has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's contest against the Jaguars with an Achilles' injury. Before sustaining the injury, Jones completed five of seven passes for 60 yards and a pick and carried once for four yards. In his absence, Riley Leonard is slated to take over at QB for the Colts.
