Allen completed 13 of 19 passes for 139 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions while adding two carries for two yards in the Bills' 31-10 win over the Dolphins on Thursday night. He also fumbled once but recovered. As the combination of Allen's final line and the final score implies, the star signal-caller didn't have to do much to ensure a comfortable victory for Buffalo. James Cook and the defense did a lot of the heavy lifting for the Bills, although Allen had a hand in Cook's first of three touchdowns on the night by connecting with him on a 17-yard scoring pass in the first quarter. Otherwise, Allen focused almost all his attention on Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid, who were on the receiving end of nine of the quarterback's completions and 87 of his passing yards. Allen could be pressed to do more in a Week 3 Monday night home matchup against the Jaguars on Sept. 23.

Allen (hand) said after Sunday's 34-28 win over the Cardinals that his left hand felt fine, but he's still scheduled to undergo further testing, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports. Allen landed hard on his non-throwing hand during the fourth quarter of Sunday's narrow win over Arizona. Though the star quarterback downplayed the issue, it will be closely monitored with Buffalo scheduled for only a few days rest prior to taking on the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football in Week 2. The Bills will release an official injury report Monday, and the team also should announce the results of Allen's medical tests soon. Mitchell Trubisky is healthy and ready to step in if necessary, but at this stage it doesn't seem as though Allen will be forced to miss the AFC East divisional clash against Miami.

Allen did not participate in Saturday's 9-3 preseason win over the Steelers. Allen was set to play well into the second quarter along with the entire starting offense. While most of the unit did take the field, Allen remained on the sideline in a ball cap with no pads. No official reason was given, but Buffalo likely pivoted its plans due to wet field conditions after rain came through Pittsburgh just before kickoff. As one of the most proven quarterbacks in the league, Allen doesn't necessarily need to appear in preseason action, though he does have a remade receiving corps. That could mean that he plays at least a few possessions in the team's final preseason contest next Saturday against Carolina.

Allen completed two of three passes for 22 yards and rushed once for seven yards in Saturday's 33-6 preseason loss to the Bears. Allen played the first quarter, which consisted of one full drive and part of another possession for Buffalo's offense. His completions went to Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel, perhaps foreshadowing which wide receivers Allen will be relying on most following the offseason departure of Stefon Diggs. Rookie second-round pick Keon Coleman also mixed in with the first-team offense. Allen will look to keep building chemistry with Buffalo's new-look wide receiver room in next Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.

Allen and other starters are scheduled to play for about a quarter in Saturday's preseason game against Chicago, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. It'll be Allen's first chance in game setting to connect with new wide receivers Curtis Samuel and Keon Coleman, who join familiar faces Khalil Shakir and TE Dalton Kincaid as the probable top pass catchers under offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The Bills shifted toward more focus on the running game after Brady took over last November, but it worked out more than fine for Allen in fantasy because he got even more carries near the goal line than usual and scored eight rushing TDs in a five-game stretch Weeks 12-17. Combining his passing and rushing scores, Allen finished with 42-45 TDs each of the past four regular seasons.
