The Jaguars placed Duvernay (lower body) on injured reserve Wednesday. The 27-year-old sustained a lower-body injury during the Jaguars' Week 5 win over the Colts, and it now appears serious enough to land him on IR. Duvernay accumulated one reception for minus-1 yard and 181 return yards across Jacksonville's first five contests. With the first-year Jaguar sidelined for at least next four games, expect Parker Washington to serve as Jacksonville's top kick and punt returner.

Duvernay sustained a lower-body injury in Sunday's 37-34 win over the Colts, Garry Smits of The Jacksonville Florida Times-Union reports. Duvernay played a significant role in the Jaguars' Week 5 win, as his 53-yard punt return set up a Tank Bigsby touchdown run in the third quarter. Head coach Doug Pederson sounded concerned about Duvernay when discussing the Jaguars' injuries Monday, explaining that Duvernay is "going to be the big one." If the Texas product is unable to suit up in Week 6, expect Parker Washington to assume Jacksonville's top kick- and punt-return duties.

Duvernay caught his lone target for 15 yards during Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers. Duvernay joined the Jaguars on a two-year, $8.5 million contract in March and is expected to serve as their primary return man in 2024. The 26-year-old totaled 880 receiving yards and five touchdowns with Baltimore from 2020 to 2022, but he recorded just four catches for 18 yards last season before hitting free agency. Duvernay isn't likely to be consistently involved in Jacksonville's passing game this year and is competing with Parker Washington for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart.

Duvernay agreed to a two-year, $8.5 million contract twith the Jaguars on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Duvernay spent his first four seasons with the Ravens and proved himself to be an All-Pro special-teams player. He projects to return both kicks and punts in Jacksonville while also providing depth at receiver. The 26-year-old averaged 24.8 yards per kick return during his career in Baltimore and also scored two touchdowns.

Duvernay (back) is listed as active for Saturday's divisional-round game against the Texans. A back issue forced Duvernay to injured reserve for the final four contests of the regular season, but after the Ravens' first-round bye, he was able to log full practices this week and be activated in advance of Saturday's outing. With his status now cleared up, he likely will slot into both return roles due to Tylan Wallace (knee) being sidelined, but Duvernay may have a tough time reentering the WR mix with all of Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman, Odell Beckham and Nelson Agholor available to Baltimore's offense.
