The Bears claimed Jones off waivers from the Cardinals on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Jones spent his first three seasons in the league with the Bears but played fewer snaps each year before signing with the Cardinals in free agency. It didn't work out with the Cardinals, so now he's back with his original team. Jones adds immediate secondary depth with Jaylon Johnson (leg) nursing an injury.

Jones exited Saturday's preseason game against the Raiders with a head injury, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports. Jones went to the locker room to be examined for a concussion. He appeared in eight regular-season games for the Bears last season, making one start.

Jones missed the last nine games of the season with a shoulder injury, and ended the year with 15 tackles (13 solo) and two passes defensed in eight games played. Jones posted 47 tackles as a rookie in 2022, though he was pressed into starting duty often as the team dealt with injuries in the secondary. In the last two seasons, Jones has served as a rotational player. Of his 15 tackles this year, 10 came in the Week 6 game when he was called upon to start. Jones will be a restricted free agent this offseason.
